Sam was a good sport, he didn't get hot under the collar even if some of the jokes had him in the firing line. Whole thing makes me a bit sad panda, moreso because my project car (when at home) lives in a garage that is UNDER my house. Looking at the house though, Sam is also one very lucky cunt.

I got there too late to help clean up the main BBQ, but I helped clean up the fresh BBQ.........

Really was a good day but the significance didn't really hit home until it was all over. We really do have a great bunch of blokes on this forum. Thank you again.

Not sure if anyone else did, but fark I got burnt on my neck. No pun intended.

I just wanted to add my condolences to the already long list. I watched you punt this thing at QR and Lakeside... such a cool little rig. It really was what hotting up classic small cars is all about. Good to see people helping out too. Best of luck from hear on out.

I thought an update might be in order.

Following the demise of Kermit I realised that it would have to be a very special car that could replace him. There was no way I could afford to start a build again from scratch. So...I had to stretch a little but I bought a childhood dream car of mine. The ex-Smith/Gillespie Fiat 131 sport sedan.

The car has been pretty competitive since being built in ~1989, even racing in Indonesia three times. Upon bringing him back home to Queensland he's been stripped back down and is off for a lick of paint. Im hoping to be back on the track within the next couple of months.

Wow!! Sorry, I didn't know about the past build/fire but what a replacement. Seems like an exciting end to a sad story. Can't wait to see and hear some of your new exploits with the new beast. Congrats!!
Can't read the fine print. What sort of power did the this car put down compared to your last?

I remember this car running in the Fiat Alfa challenge in the 1980's and it was fast then.

A bit more. Kermit was blazing the tyres from 380rwhp @ 24psi with the 3076. I never got to run him more then 300rwhp. Hank runs the 16v head with a 35R @ up to 30psi. So a bit more HP.
