    TS is 1998 to 2005.

The Ebay link I provided also says AH, which is the later model, but I have found they are usually not suitable, unless it's early AH.

    tl;dr TS is safer bet

    I should have some somewhere.
I will dig them up and post them for you.
I will be at Phillip Island on grand final weekend for the last round of the state series if you want to have a look and chat.

    Thanks Andrew.

To the commo anoraks, I've got 3 racks to try, VL/VN wont fit, but a VP p/s rack just about fits with a little extractor clearance required. Problem is i dont have the VP intermediate shaft, i've got the VL/VN version. Will a VP shaft adapt to the VL column? I know it locates different to the rack end. Anyone got a photo and length of a VP intermediate shaft ?.

No chance i can get a VN rack to fit.

Things going well, for those playing at home,

You can swap the top casting where the hydraulic lines go between VL/VN to a VP/VR power steering racks. You will also need to swap over the metal lines that run to the rack. The benefit being you get to keep your existing intermediate shaft and steering column and the pipes are far more compact allowing a little extra room for extractors. If you want to be the coolest kid in the class, you could theoretically run the VS variable p/s rack in a VL/VN and be an internet legend.

Next job is to run the high/low pressure lines and power up the Astra pump.

As the Lightyear mentioned, Winton started well, new PB of 1.33.8 in Qualy. Powersteer was very nice to have and made the Walky easy to drive. I got some data on tyres and made a few changes to Race 1 to unlock more speed. Lightyear was beside me in 6th position.
MotoXray came up and said hello to Dave and myself, always good to see fellow PFers

Race 1, Started 5th, good start and said good bye to Dave's VN, sat in 4th for the race until the water temp got a little high stuck under the HT TCM Car. I was in a 3 way battle, so let Vics Coupe car past and finished 5th. The Lightyear was behind. Dave would have been closer but he threw it off the road on lap 2 and had to fight his way back.

Pretty happy with the car at this point, i went the wrong way with adjustments for race 1 and was confident for race 2. It did look very nice all clean for race 2.

Race 2 started ok, this time Dave got a better start, i had him pinched behind the XB Coupe. Got a clear run through the flip flop but got clobbered by the XB coupe as he lost control in the marbels, got into a tank slapper and made a V-Line to the wall. My car was in the way and hit the A pillar pushing me into the wall instead. Pics tell the story, mostly panel and strut damage, it will buff out and be back on the track soon enough.

It's a pity that happened, we would have had a tight race being so close in lap times. I suppose new brakes are not in the budget now. Are you going to upload any video? I caught the whole thing.

    Update,

Car is pretty much finished, as always a few more mods get thrown in the mix. It's looking pretty sharp with virtually a new full respray.

Due to the some suspension damage, i have re-engineered the front end. Plenty of upgrades to get the lazy thing to turn in and hold some corner speed. Also a new Harrop brake package to be fitted.

IPRA have made a few key changes also this year, biggest win for me is the 6 speed can now stay in the car and I can fit a floor mount pedal box. Very good chance I'll be at a round this year.

You will probably surprise a few guys now that it is potentially a faster car.

I got it back and then proceeded to pull it apart. It gave me a chance to have a second look at a few jobs required and small jobs turned into big jobs. Suspension, brakes and wheels, change one thing and it snowballs. It's currently being sorted for the VicV8 round at PI in late August. Hopefully a test day the week before hand.

Went for the VY HSV stoppers front and rear with PMU pads. Unsure weather I will escape with the std 1 inch master, it will be a suck and see with a pedal box to be sorted by round 3.

Most of the parts on the ground ended up in the car somewhere!, fingers crossed that I can point it at an aligner (Hunter of course!) next week. Tick tock.

Yeah it spirals pretty quickly, good luck with the deadline- they always approach rapidly! Keen to hear how those brakes work out, sounds like you have some testing/ experimentation to get them dialed in

Now that the plastic VL is back together again, lets see how it ended up like this in the first place.
