    Question Nissan X-Trail GT

    what are the chances you would be able to comply something like this?

    i know the normal xtrail was released here brand new but the GT model wasnt.

    bet your asking why? ill tell ya... they come out with a SR20VET which is basically a SR20DET but with VVL..

    heres some info..

    The most powerful VVL engine so far, is the SR20VET. The SR20VET is a turbocharged '20V' SR20VE. It uses a Garrett GT2560R turbo charger, and makes 280ps (276hp). Nissan's technical information about this engine states that it is 9:1 compression ratio, but it really adds up to 8.8:1. Compaired to the SR20DET (used in the Nissan Silvia, and Bluebird), the SR20VET (aside from having VVL technology) has improved airflow in the cylinder head, higher compression, and also improved coolant passages.


    One difference from Honda's VTEC system, is that NEO VVL engages the change of intake and exhaust cams independently. On the SR20VE the intake camshaft is switched at 5000rpm, and the exhaust at 6500rpm. However this trait was not included on the newer '20v' version, as both camshafts engage at the same RPM.

    foresters are nice, this is something different though...

    tim did you test drive a gt before the xt? any big difference?

    You will never be able to import the car unless its private import, as the x's are full volume sellers here by Nissan.

    Nothing stopping you from finding a half cut though....

    i know a guy with a half cut, he wants $4300 for it, complete motor/box/ecu/bonnet even and some interior parts...

    but wouldnt the diffs/brakes and other running gear from the standard x-trail be different to the gt?

    nah, i just went to a dealer and told them i wanted one. they had one, i signed some stuff and now i have one.

    i wanted new, the price of a late model low KM and a new was SFA, so i just went new. fantastic car.

    If you have the half cut you will have front brakes etc, and I doubt the rear brakes diff etc will be different.

    yeah they dont have a bonnet scoop, they got a plastic bit that feeds air into it from the grille apparently?

    280PS, not to bad at all. A turbo on the QR25 would be a ripper I reckon. Altough I'd sort the suspension before I thought about more power, every X-Trail I've driven have all felt a little nervous.

    they fit into a sss and bolt upto the standard box... but that much power in a fwd is pointless

    stripped it down and took wat i wanted of it and the rest of it is rubbish
    so if any one wants bits and pieces of it let me know because its useless junk to me
    basically bought it for the cylinder head and oil pump
    willing to swap things for a case of beer
    bottom end, gearbox, wiring harness, top mount intercooler its all up for swaps *BEER*

    stripped it down


    it now looks like this
