Ok so I fixed the crappy axles and rebuilt the LPG convertors which included some pretty fancy port work and also made some new LPG vapour pipes.
This pic is the old 90deg plastic lines

These pics are the new smooth bore vapour lines

This is the final dyno sheet, The LPG mix was still quite lean at 14.7 and I am going to make some more mods to the convertors by increasing the primary spring pressures.

We ran it on NOS but as you can see the Excess Flow Valve (EFV) triggered and we aborted that run.

The RPM trigger wasn't working on his dyno but Max HP was at 6500 rpm.

the stoithometric ratio of gas is 15.5:1, thus 14.7:1 is actually rich, thats provided your afr guage has been switched to the lpg setting, otherwise it will still show 14.7:1 as stoich when the real reading should be 15.5:1, if this was the case it would be stoich or on the border line of lean as you say.

but the dyno says "gas" so maybe it was changed to read correctly?

if not you might pick up some more hp by richening it up a bit.

Man there is more lines under that bonnett than have been up Amy W's nose.

When u running it next at the drags?

That will be the best indicator for the mods to the lpg system.

    Haha yea nice Bermo,

The Wednesday night drags start here again on Sept 3 so aiming for that date.

For reference the last time I ran it on the dyno the engine had about 80kms on it and was only running the outer valve springs as the cam was still running in. That dyno run was 275rwhp so I am pretty happy with an extra 50hp.

Yes the readings were all done for LPG as the operator is right into his performance LPG, and as you said there is power to be made by richening it up. I am going to increase the primary spring pressure in the convertors.

Nice work. if the shitty 25 spine diff lasted so long it is worth a try with a 28 spine upgrade. My R31 runs a 28 spline stock however I converted it to a 4.11 from pintara diff by changing the crownwheel and pinion. I kept the 28 spline carrier and 4 pinion setup etc. It has been fine with 476 rwhp.

Yea I also grabbed the Pintara diff gears but unfortunately only had a 25sp 2pinion LSD centre from an XD and put all that crap into the XW housing.

I have told the GF that if it blows at the next Woop ass Wednesday street meet then she has free reign to go shoe shopping as I will get bagged massively on PF and be forced to buy a 9"

    Fark YEAAAAA!!!!

Rocked up at the Kwinana Motorplex last night,

    1st run with a pussy half throttle launch and a 2.3s 60ft ran 11.77 at 118mph
    2nd run bit more throttle and a 1.8 60ft ran 11.3 at 120 mph
The bloke from the track said that I am running close to the super street bracket and not to go any faster as it would be 'good night'

3rd run and an 11.4 to cap the night off.

Pretty happy as the car launched straight and ran true all the way down the track.

    Some nice numbers....

I've never heard of them warning about running to close to a 10? WTF

Did you get the feeling that he had any right to kick you if you had've run a 11.0?

I mustn't have been clear...I meant that he got warned that he couldn't go faster than 11.3. I assume they meant if he dips into the 10's it'd be good night.

I know about the 10.99 wall and I dread that one day in the not too distant future I'll hit it and won't be able to afford the gear that goes with it.

Yes yes boys I still have a massive erection from the ET's last night, People keep pointing at my crotch and I just smile and say "member of the 11sec club"

My last run was a 13.2 some months back when I had all sorts of issues, so to roll out 11.7 on the first pass and completely skip the 12s was a bit of a shock,

Basically the marshals said that I can run all night in the 11's but if I dip into 10.99 then it's good night,

I thought fuck this I am going for broke then and gave it a bit more for the 2nd run, thats when they had a stern talk to me about safety and shit.

    Engine details are.

    CHI 2V alloy heads
    Comp solid cam
GRA gas system (well farking modified I mean well)

BW 4.11 gears 25 spline axles

    Bermology,

Wasn't really leaving the line at any RPM as I was stressing about the dodgy axles, Basically just holding it on the brake and when the green light came just rolling open the throttle gently.

Actually the only change was a $5 valve that fooled the LPG vacuum lockoff,

As I hit full throttle there wasn't enough manifold vacuum to keep it open and thus it was shutting off the fuel supply, I just started the motor and closed the valve and was able to run on WOT for 100%

    Simple hey?

I am trying to post the time slip up but cannot remember how I got it from a scanned PDF to a pic to load into Photobuchet.

I was asked that question by a mate today and I have to say that I really can't tell you but at a guess I would say somewhere over 5500.

Right I hadn't noticed that fact and cheers for pointing it out, obviously it must be some sort of bench mark figure, To be honest it hooked up so smoothly and ran straight and true for the whole pass.

Ah gotcha, Might have met him,

    Update.

The heads had to come off on Friday night as I suspected there was an issue, the gaskets were fine and so were all the plugs, Looked at bit deeper and found that I have split a bore, It was fine after the last pass and only developed a problem when I had pulled onto the fwy to drive home.

I am going to try to source another block and start again.

Yea she already had a sleeve in one other bore and I decided to grout fill the block up to the core plugs during the last rebuild as good insurance,

I spoke to the fellas at A1 highperformance that I buy my goodies from and they told me that it's not uncommon to split it at random times, The fact that I had finished my last run, parked up, watched the burn out comp then started driving home and it decided to split on the fwy was strange!!
