    Auction of siezed/found Police stuff

NSW ppl may have seen it on the news the other day but if you didnt there was an auction today for all the crap that the Police have siezed or otherwise acquired and couldnt find owers for.

Trail bikes, quads, pushies, tv's, dvds, tools, misc equipment, dinghies, wheels, musical instruments, etc.

I thought there'd be some good stuff there but it was all shit. The bikes were all fucked and sold for heaps of money. Auctioneer was the dumbest cunt ive ever met, and thats saying alot considering the dumb cunts i meet regularly.

Totally fucked and smashed CBR250 (hard to tell thats what it was) went for $1600 ish. TV going for similar money. The bikes no matter how stuffed or small bidding started at $200 and sold for more always. Even totally buggered mini bikes from brands ive never heard of.

    Full list:

    http://www.combinedauctions.com/catalog.php

I got there when the auction started and took an hour in the line to register to bid. One person serving over 400 ppl there. Also place was full or dumbarses standing around in the way of the staff and real bidders being complete dickheads. Auctioneer got threatened a few times from swedes too which was funny.

Anyone else go? Complete waste of time.

Mate of mine was gonna pick me up a laptop there today, I told him not to worry about it after I got mine working (kinda)...sounds like I didnt miss out on much. These things are only good if fuck all people turn up or only industry people.

Too many retards = retardedly high prices.

I have been to the Vic Police and Sherrif's auctions down here in Oakleigh. Much the same experience.

If you want car related bargains I suggest you go to wherever it is in Syd they auction off the abandoned vehicles. I used to be a regular at the one in Port Melb. Has since moved to Dandenong and I cbf'd driving down there to bid on shit boxes. Then having to drive 1.5 in the opposite direction to collect my trailer and drive back again. Not my idea of fun. Although some bargains to be had.

Best cars i've got through this auction:
    Mazda 929 coupe $120
    Mazda 929 coupe $210
    Mazda 808 coupe $160
    Escort RS2000 coupe $330
A bazillion gemini's no more than $250 on any of them
    Ford fairlane 351 ~$500

A friend used to buy any rusted alfa's with webers. Then pull the webers off for profit and junk the cars on the spot.

Another guy once bought a Jag with 350 chev for a grand and DROVE IT HOME!!!

I called it quits when the scrap metal blokes ruined it by bnidding up prices on cars just to make minimum scrap weight for their supply contracts. The arse has fallen out of scrap metal since then so maybe there are bargains again?

Swedes threatening the auctioneer at a fucking police auction? Fuck me, those sand nigger cunts have no fucking respect. I reckon the cops/immigration/ASIO should advertise a " fully sick cheap shit and/or drug manufacturing items" auciton, get them all in a big field or better yet a warehouse scheduled for demolition and blow them the fuck up. Australian society is going down the shitter because of these scumbag mother fuckers.

I might keep an eye on upcoming auctions and see if anything decent comes up in a month or two. This one was advertised so I think thats why there was so many people there.

Dont know where the abandoned vehicles get done thesedays.

The best auction is the special Police auctions.

Item 1: 2kg brick of white power

Item 2: 50 6 foot cannabis plants, slight damage

Item 3: 43 small plastic resealable bags containing a white crystal substance

Sketchy: Its run by a private auction house. Nothing to do with the police they just own the shit, and the money (less 11% for the auction house) goes to the Crown.

Its not just confiscated. Its stuff thats found or handed in as well. Police arent allowed to throw valueless/stupid things out. Its corrupt, so it must be put into a book, an entry made in the computer system, and the item stored for 28 days in case someone claims it. If you find something (trail bike, etc) and hand it in, if an owner cant be located within 28 days you can get it back and legally keep it. Got to say you want it when you hand it in tho.

I had a junkie hand in a 6in x 8in painting of a rooster that looked like it had been outside for months. Fuck knows why.

Ive done same as aaron_hogan.... police auctions are full of dicks who pay over retail for secondhand garbage.

the abandoned vehicle auction when i went seemed to be dominated by wreckers and scrappers.

Yelling at people for not holding their number high enough (all the time, one was a really old bloke and could hardly walk). Yelling at people looking at the items when the auction was on (not the items getting auctioned, ones that hadnt been done yet). He yelled that you had the whole of Tues to look at them and shouldnt have left it until the day of the auction. Kept yelling at people to shut up too. Even ones not near the auction.

One auction he tried to start at $200, no one bid for ages and he kept going, one person yelled $50 and he went off at them. '$50? You dont tell me what to start at. Ive been doing this job for 20 years, what do you know. You just walked in the door 6 minutes ago.' <-direct quote.

He started it at $50 and after 4 bids it hit $200 and he went off at the bloke again 'see it hit where i wanted it to start. i knew itd get there. you wasted everyones time.'

These are a couple of examples. He went off about everything.

my first car (1967 Hillman Gazelle) was from the abandoned vehicle auctions, cost $150, and about $400 to get it roadworthy. We had someone offer us $200 cash on the day for the Smiths clock in it (didn't take it, wanted to keep the car whole).

Many years ago we used to attend the Pawnbrokers auctions...Tuesday night and not too busy...were bargains to be had some nights and others fark all....was kinda addictive though as the nights you didnt go your home thinking about what you could be missing out on...not too many wankers although the pawnbrokers there bidding for stock could be tools and were told they were promptly by the rest of the crowd..
Was pretty much anything there too...from jewelry to welders to gym equipment...dont even know if they still do it...

I handed in one of those LG Gucci or whatever touchscreens to the cop shop ( after contacting the owner, (chick from Bris) She told me that she reported it stolen so I took it to the actual cop shop where she reported it and gave the story. A few months later I get a call saying to come collect it... I said no and keep it... Another month goes by and I get a letter in the mail asking to come fetch it...So I ring again and the cop goes, sure you don't want it? Looks like it's worth a bit... I go no, it was reported stolen at your shop call the owner... She goes we get that many reports and..cbf'd looking through the paperwork... So I go sell it then...

The thing had bad karma around it ... It felt weird so I didn't want it.

And as for pics, there where a few poses of the owner and friends... But battery went flat before I could grab them...

Least they didnt bring it round at 7am....

Few years ago i found a watch (a brand new rip curl one with a missing clasp at the end) at Scarborough beach so i thought i'd do the right thing and handed it in. Little while later the police ring me and told me to come and collect it cause no one had claimed it. Couple of weeks go by and i get an early morning knock on my door.

Old mate copper told me he was in the area so he dropped this watch off to me! Went into a surfshop to get the band fixed only to see it advertised for over $1000.00
