Finally found some time to get started on this now it is at home

    Motor OUT

    The starting point !!!

    Support crew

    The BEAST

Easier than using a trolley jack – Yes, car is being lifted by the digger

Trolley jack time – Digger was not too reliable – although Driver has some skills

    The Overview !!!

    MOTOR COMING OUT !!!!

Best way to remove a motor – get it up – then roll the car back !!!!

    Motor OUT

    THE RESULT

Will start to prep the bay and get cutting in the next few days

    Factory brown or gtfo

How come you didn't get chassis man to do the mounts for the engine/ trans/ tunnel while it was down there?

^^ What he said, tho the look on the officals face as this comes thru scruitneering only to pop the bonnet and see the stock engine would have been worth a giggle

ETA to skids?? early or mid 2011??

    Looking good

Grooverider is going to do the engine, box mounts and clutch can once I have the box

No one will do it with out the box to align - otherwise its a whole lot of guestimating

tunnel will be removed shortly - but only to allow for alignment

Skills are needed that I don't have

Dale's car run amazing 60's from groovies skills - so I just know my limitations

Not just being lifted by a digger, being lifted by a digger on a truck! heh.

The whole setup is just awesome, blokes standing around drinking beer? Check. Not using the 'proper' tools for the job? Check. Doing it on the side of the road? Check. Nice work man.

And you really need to keep the poo brown for sure.

    Little Update

Should probably put a list of all the RX3 parts that have been ordered and will be fitted over the next few weeks

    12A Nose Cone
    12A Grille
RX3 tail lights (not savanna, the cool round ones)
    Fibreglass front guards
    Fibreglass bonnet
    Fibreglass boot
    Fibreglass Front bar
    Fibreglass Rear bar
    And some other bits

    All the little bits

Also picked up an Aeromotive Meth pump from Dale at CHE

Only took me 4 months to go get it !!

I am seriously toying with the idea of selling her

But, will get it all together and painted Matt Black then make a decision

Open to offers whilst I make up my mind

Are the RX3 nose bits 'genuine' or repro? I presume the headlight 'lenses' are stickers or similar.

Good read from start to finish, I did laugh when the uni bloke chipped in.

If you're going to sell, make sure it's to someone on here, so we can follow the progress.

    Nice safety thongs!!

Pulled car apart – ready to test fit fiberglass bits then off to paint

Big thanks to my mate, Jared for helping out all Sunday arvo again !! – I did do some of the work – Just took the photos in between !!

Wheelie Bar – Mock Up Shot – Damn they long !!!

    Nearly Apart

Getting ready for a clean and then start cutting up the bay and tunnel

Long Delayed Update – My fault – no one elses

Been so busy with work and family that I nearly forgot the new parts had arrived

Fibreglass bits are here and have been for some time

Finally got a chance to bring some of them home and to start to mock them up ready for trial fitment and then strip for paint

Here are a few pics of the small collection of bits I got

Will post some pics of them mocked up on the car in the next week or two

    First Few mock up shots

Very impressed with the quality of the parts from Eziglass

Finish and fit is extremely good for glass replicas
