Was the unreliableness with the VQ engine? Memory is hazy, I thought it was a shitbox with a VG30 then was redone for the VQ and driven once or twice.

It was a VG30 with big twin turbos. It broke a variety of things and also loved to pop off intercooler pipes.
If you dig a hole and it is in the wrong place, digging it deeper isn't going to help.

It's as close to an Astra GTE as we can get here, which were probably better than the Golf GTI 16V/Escort XR3 turbo etc back in the late 1980s.
The scary thing is the Daewoo 1.5i was a badly built pile of shit and were crap to drive even with the 1.5. It would be bloody near a death trap with the XE engine, unless they've sorted the rest of the shitheap.

The one I saw was a 2016/2017 model. Insane sound and decently quick.

I think the ones most talked about in terms of pain were the 4.2 V8's but I can't imagine a TT V10 would be much simpler but I'd be happy to be corrected and entertain serious thoughts of owning as it's fucking awesome.

Negotiate some off the price if it needs to be done, do it once and don't worry for 100,000km?

Maybe why no engine bay shot, plate might give it away to those who know what to look for! Unless of course you look underneath as if Wheeler Dealers has taught me something, it's that UK cars of any age have high potential of being rusty shit heaps underneath.

Just No. All manner of other things in the vehicle are lifed to the same 100 000 km. I just wouldn't go there.

The Allroad I experienced was just failing everywhere, suspension bushes, dashboard, CV joints, air suspension. I'm afraid I just wouldn't buy a VAG product, I'll stick with 2000-2005 Magnas thanks.
