I was out to lunch on Saturday with my Mrs and an Alfa Duetto drives past. She casually says there's one of those for sale near her work for $1500. I said I doubt it, but she insists and tells me she'll get a photo. On Monday I get a photo of a 1966 Corvette. She still reckons it $1500. She tells me where it is and I drive past, albeit in the dark. Looks okay and it's the more valuable vert, but probably needs a resto. I call the bloke and he says he wants $46K for it. She still reckons it had $1500 on the windscreen until recently. Women.

The resale is getting slaughtered on them.

My father is selling his silver Mk4 R32 (#199/200) which has 40,000km-less and comes with ALL the shit you got when you bought one (key ring, cap, goo in the boot, umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh eh). It's probably the cleanest R32 in the country as the anal old bastard even takes the wheels off and cleans inside them, does the inner guards, etc. Nothing is too much for his toy. He's asking only $38k which is a fucking steal in my books.

I would sell all my car paraphenalia and hock myself to the bank to own it if I didn't already have a mortgage.

Why does that bluebird have a GT35 @ 20psi and only 250rwkw? Wouldn't a much smaller turbo put out that power at 20psi with half the lag?

It's a 1966 327 Auto vert with factory hardtop. Very obviously needs paint ans who knows what else, but they seem to fetch $100K+ when done up.

Those VW resales are a joke. People have way too high expectations for what they're worth IMHO. Its not like R32s (or GTis) are rare, yet people seem to think that after 50,000kms and 2-3 years they're worth close to RRP. Even VWs depreciate!
