In hindsight you should have had the gearbox bolts undone, then he would have inadvertently left a gearbox in his own driveway. Arh, hindsight.

dude, i would definately tell the police about the tracker.

They will be able to get onto Mitsubishi and get a car position from them, as long as it's working! Paid fees or not

Fuck, +1 for ACA, they have done enough bad, perhaps time for some good?

I doubt the cops are going to do shit unless you say the dude drove off in a manner dangerous.

Will send pic to my brother.

He has worked in a lot of pubs and clubs around Rockdale/Kogarah/Hurstville/Shire areas.

Long shot but worth an email.

Just a thought but is this still running on E85?
If so there are only so many places he can fuel up?

When I picked up some E85 in Sydney, there was a constant line of people buying it. Every single one was filling many jerry cans. I doubt this con cunt would be dumb enough to take the car there.

after i emailed my insurance company the photo of the guy last night, i got a reply this morning saying that my claim had been authorised and will be processed within 14 days.

    thats a relief!

need to chase up the cops though, havent heard anything back
dont want this guy getting away with it.

Fuck I really feel for you and am glad that you are at least getting some payout.

How much fuel was actually in the tank and what would be the range with that, as now that you have a pic you might be able to get some pics /vid from a servo that he might have had to go to?

worst part is, everytime you try and insure a car for the next few years you might have issues because you put in a stolen claim.

better that than getting nothing i guess...

Can you get a copy of the police report after it is all done? This might be useful when dealing with insurance companies in the future.

It could almost be classed as a 'not at fault' stolen claim? Get them to mark it 'not to affect no claim bonus'?
I touched my brother's wang and all I got was this lousy signature. If only I had a POWERCHIP to flick instead.

I cant begin to imagine how you feel, but honestly mate I wouldnt feel silly if i was you, I mean who'd have thought you couldnt trust a bank cheque especially if the teller at the bank thought it was sweet.
I think we all have learnt a lesson through your misfortune, just a shit go for you that you learnt it the hardest way. I Definatly will not be trusting bank cheques in the future.

Protip- If they said the claim is approved then shut the fuck up and keep all your thoughts to yourself from here on in.

Nothing you say can make it better and heaps that you say could make it worse.

Remember that Shannons actively require their staff to be on multiple forums and car clubs...

Had a mate who sold his 930 Porsche years ago to a guy who was flying up from Melbourne on a Saturday with a bank cheque in hand and was going to drive it back over the weekend. I told him in no uncertain way that he would be the biggest fool to accept a bank cheque and let the car out of his possession until the money was cleared into his account, otherwise it must be cash only. Needless to say, the guy ended up bringing the $90K in cash with him when he picked the car up...

Hope it all works out for you in the end, mate. And massive stroke of luck that you got a good shot of him in the pic, Hopefully kharma will soon being giving him a huge kick up the backside.

I wouldn't bother with ACA or TT.
This week it will be "Innocent victim duped by brazen car thief".
Next week it will be "Hoon passes fake bank cheque at bank. Your money isn't safe from hoons!"
Turns out, far too much has been written about great men and not nearly enough about morons
