you need to surround yourself with smarter people.

say the equation out loud and you don't need rules (although, you and your mates could do better to remember them)

The thing that occurs to me, and may in fact be wrong of course, is that each of the segments of circle-diamater is not quite exactly the same size as the two right-angle pieces that box it in. As you go to infinity, sure the size of those two pieces that box it in get closer ... however, the number of circle-segments that are inaccurately described also heads towards infinity. So the closeness to the 4x is offset by the fact that you're adding an infinite number of inaccuracies.

But then I'm currently a little inebriated ...

Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

Read it left to right without brackets. I also checked with my old man and he got the same answer of read it left to right without brackets and he was born 1949 and he was really good at school. So unless teaching has changed the answer is 0.

Yeah that's true. I got 10 but I wasn't sure why I got ten, then I started to doubt my answer because everyone was making such a big deal about it. I can't remember this BODMAS stuff but I must have learnt it and instinctively known how to use it.

The answer is 20. The zero doesn't count.

    Answer is 10.

I imagine when you say it aloud to people if you say "what's 10 + 10" then "multiplied by zero" understandably you get the order of operation like a calculator. While correct in that context it is, in the words of Tony Barber, not the answer were looking for. Reading it is different.

I noticed similar, but don't have CAD to be able to quickly test the above, so got distracted and forgot about it :P
