It's a bens Fiberglass off eBay. It fits alright, has some wobbles in it and isn't perfectly flat. But for my junka it fits with the theme of the car.

So looking at rear suspension setups to eliminate some of the body roll on take off.

Have been suggested to put some torana rear springs in, making the car a sit a little higher than what it does at the moment. Which would be a good thing because I think that its bottoming out on the rear drivers side on take off.

Secondly, adding a rear sway bar or go Anti roll bar. Now I havent played or driven a car with a anti roll bar and wondering what are people suggestions and has anyone got any recommendations?

Springs or poly bag is masking the issues. Antiroll will sort it out. Jegs have them $aus290 delivered.

My mate is making one for my VC, should have pics in the next

I'd try swaybar if can get one for free..heard on some that they run the same times without they just dont look as messy.

Seen cunts take off swaybars to get super messy Craig Thomson launches...

What torana springs? I've got few sets of lc torrie rear springs but lowered I think.
an easy fix is get a mate to drive in front of you at 60 then 80 then 100 and mark in on your speedo with some liquid paper.

Whats the rear arm geometry like?

Squashing a spring doesnt sound like its working too well.

Try and get the rear more neutral or negative before crutching with things.

Rear arm geometry is all standard shit!!

I agree its not working, thats why I am looking into something a little better.

I had a sway bar in the shed but threw it away thinking that I will never need it...fark!!

    LC no goot, need LH.

If I raise it a little and put a sway bar on it that could help. Definately needs more travel in the rear on take off.

So I looked under it and found that it had about 35mm of travel until it hit the drivers rear bump stop....solution cut bump stop by 20mm. That fixed one problem.

Next was to install some hectic shocks that Kris gave me, some comp engineering ones. I set them to 50/50 which firmed up the ride and solved the axle tramping.

Head to the track full of hopes and dreams. Ran 11.2 - 11.3 all night at 119-120mph. No amount of stalling it up at 1500 / 2000/2200/2500 would make it take off any better. However it didnt axle tramp this time.

Quickest 60' was 1.66. Thinking I need to the shocks a little softer to help with some weight transfer. 90/10s in the front would help to but thats not going to happen soon

No more fucking around with it now. Time to get it ready for Drag Challange again this year. Gives me some time to fix a couple of little things and then throw everything at it whilst at heathcote and try and get that 10

If you are running radials 90/10 arent hugely important.

You need to drop that 60ft. Any chance you can the convertor off to get re stalled bigger?! Only costs a $200-300 max

Tell me about it, I know the 60 is shit. Getting a quote to get the converter out to 4500 from 3500. I think that is going to be its biggest help

Trying to fix a couple of things before drag challenge this year.

Two things that always bugged me was the induction pipe sat really close to the radiator and was always hot to touch and the thermo fans were just mounted through the radiator.

First made up a shroud. Just need to file some edges and then give it a lick of paint. One day I will replace the $20 Ebay fans with something better.

Than I moved onto the induction pipe. Half of the problem was the 90 degree bend was not tight enough. So cue a silicon tight bend and then make the pieces in between. Not I just need to grind it and paint. Will be wrinkle finish again to blend in

After mucking around with all of that I noticed that my oil cooler has a leak to it and has covered the radiator with atf. Ordered a new oil cooler with AN fitting this time.

By the time drag challenge comes around I won't want to work on the bloody thing

Shroud works a treat. Keeps the temps down about 10 degrees and cools much quicker. Oil cooler has been installed and no more leaks.

Now to paint the induction pipe. Then onto cleaning as it hasnt been cleaned properly for about 3 years haha

Thanks, I think Scotty is keen to keep it a closed event. In the past we have had a joint event and it didnt really work. However the past two have been in VIC and I dont see it coming to sydney as we dont have the tracks and distance to sustain the event
