Looking at those carsales ads- how come my bro in law can't get $2500 for his clean HJ ute half converted to 1jz with all the gear? Makes me scratch my head to be honest.

He'd be better of pulling all the 1JZ stuff out and throwing a detailed 202 and trimatic in for about $50 including paint. Then ask $4000

Hilux diff is out of one of those new vans, has been cut down, stud change to hq pattern with el falcoon discs and r31 skyline calipers oh and 4.11's and a full spool.

I know alot of people question the Hilux diff but I will see how it goes. If it breaks then I will look at a 9in.

I have sent off the wiring and should have that back in 2-3 weeks. Just need to chase down the senders that go into the extractors now.

    Thanks for all the comments.

see your hunting up engine mount shit. I currently have made an adapter plate to use the standard v8 mounts but going to have a crack at using these http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ENS-3-1120G/. they are a captive type setup. ill take some pics off the standard type mount when i get to the shed next. i have seen from provks car that hes put a counter sunk bolt through the rubber these mounts to stop some off the movement. im using this sump http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GM-Pe...Q5fAccessories. not worried about ground clearance as the pan on the powerglide im using sits lower.

Have been stuffing around with the fuel system. Would have finished it except for the muppet at rocket gave me the wrong fittings (the first time i didnt check)

All the fuel system is under the false floor in a 3mm alloy box, engineer should be happy with that

More shit turned up FINALLY from VPW. Have to send the shifter back to get a new cover as the one supplied has more marks and scratches than a seasoned junkie

Now just waiting on the diff and wiring. So I should have the motor, gearbox and diff in within the next 4 weeks

I wish I had have seen that sump before I starting doing the conversion on the Torana.
I ended up buy a Camaro sum from the states and cutting /re-welding the pan to fit.

Good luck with the extractors. I have heard good and bad about CAE's pipes on Kingys, and nothing but bad with their pipes on Toranas.

Found some energy and put the motor in. All is good with the fitmet except for the extractors they hit everything. Will need some persuasion tonight with a common holden tool - big fucking hammer.

how did you go with ground clearance for the sump? I fitted that sump to a HG ute i am doing a conversion in and it is ridicuosly low. I ended up finding an F-Body camaro sump that fits with only 5 or so inches deep as opposed to that sump which i think was 7 1/2 inches.
    Looking good though

    Thanks

Not a prblem with the sump. it sits at the same level at the gearbox pan. The good thing is that the front of the car has come up about 1-2 inches even after bouncing it to level it out.

I bit the bullet and bought some tuff mounts. That turned out to be a bloody mistake. Had to remake the bottom half of it. The bonus is now the extractors fit.

Sent the nopics out shopping and she came back with my front runners.

Shifter is now mounted and half of the wiring is done thanks to a couple of mates that did it for me (fuck i hate wiring). hopefully will all be done within the next 4 weeks

    more shit pics

Diff is now in and sitting on prostars.

is there any place on a ls1 to run a manual oil pressure gauge other than the standard location at the back of the manifold?

Anybody know if there is a difference between the 4L60 and 4L60E dipsticks? I need a lokar one but am getting conflicting stories whether they are the same or not
