They are very good - met them at the snowy 1000, then there was a highway blocking accident - they were low on fuel so told them to follow us down this shitty dirt track in his R34.. tunes Mathew's R32 which is a fucking weapon... (321km/h in the km).

My W:A has been awesome - when i change it, it will be for a bigger one... I run ~20L tank, with a little heat exchanger under the tray with some thermo fans running at half-speed, on the street its awesome (as you can only give it a few stabs every now and again anyway)... for the KM's i dump ~5-7kg of ice in it before the run.. by the time I get back to the pits it's only just off cold.. 22 sec WOT 32psi boost making ~ 500hp intake temps stay around ambient - like 25-30.

if you are planning to run ice regularly - put a drain valve in it - not that siphoning it is that bad.... but put a larger hole in the top - i printed a funnel for mine, but would be easier if it was larger - smashing ice etc - don't bother insulating it - but do put something (like a towel?) around it to catch the condensation - Phil with the white whale just put one in his car - if you are wondering how it worked in a drag challenge car.

    I reckon a good a2a is fine unless you're running 7's

probably totally fine - it's just about how much mass you have to disperse the heat into - no amount of airflow into the core is going to remove the heat you are putting in (in most cases) so your intake temp will rise by the end of the run i'd recon.

Nope, track is shut till new year.

Im fine with intake temps rising and understand that its something mechanical that is just par for the course. However I would like to keep out of the 60-70 degree range. If I could keep intake temps 40 and below that would help make it a little safer and a little more power.

So it looks like a barrel cooler, a condenser and a ice tank in the boot might be the go

This shit box survived Summernats again.

With the new turbo setup I decided against the burnout comp due to IAT's. However I though ill use the services of the dyno. Strapped it on with the same tune from Sydney (JEM) and it made 446rwhp which was about on par with what everybody was seeing - dropped between 60-100rwhp from Sydney to Canberra.

Though about it for a little while over a couple of beverages and decided to up the boost a little, take out a degree of timing and put some fuel in up top and see what it would do.

Result - 466rwhp with the afr's in the top at 10.2-10.5. It only went up 2psi as well. So looking at the log ill take some fuel out up top to lean it up to 11.0 afr's.

Looking at hitting the drags on Wednesday to see what it will do. The weather looks good for it as well. Hoping that the extra grunt will transfer back in Sydney meaning it should be up around the 530rwhp.

Can't say enough positive things about Adam Rogash from MPW. The guy is a fucking champion, went out of his way to give me some tips about the starting issue and where to look for more power when I start hitting the wall.

As for the commentator he was a twat, cause it was turbo LS it must be making a million powers. Told him that its a little 5.3 with pump 98 so nothing special, cunt goes on to say a couple of times that its funny that its not making power and it should be looking for about 650rwhp.

All in all this little package is great, 13psi, 11 degrees of timing and 10.5 AFR's means that its still safe and has more power to make.

an easy fix is get a mate to drive in front of you at 60 then 80 then 100 and mark in on your speedo with some liquid paper.

It was fuckin' rad to see this thing run on the dyno. We really should feature it in LSX Tuner if you're interested, mate - it's an epic budget build.

AFRs at 10.8, 9 degrees of timing, it showed knock and dropped down to 3 degrees of timing and knocked again.

Seriously scratching my head, NFI what is going on.

Who wants to buy a HQ turbo setup lol

Sounds like a knock issue not lean. Hopefully pistons will tell the story

like maybe give false readings... the factory LS1 sensors are shit house at the best of times and cant be trusted on a stock alloy block motor..

Makes sense. I would think any kind of knock in something like this is gunna kill it straight away with a stock piston. It's not like a low power NA thing where you can let the knock sensors pull it back until you figure the tune out.

The last one had signs of detonation with busted ring lands and shit so it's hard to say if it's just throwing false readings
