all I had was er70s2 but would have preferred the super missile stuff because of the different materials. where do you get yours from?

I ordered a heap of filler while working at my last job before leaving. I haven't had to order any more yet. I have welded a couple housings with super steel (er70s-2) I have borrowed off people but usually I just use er309 which I what I use on all my manifolds. I did give a mate a hand at his work one night and all they had was er308 or 316. It seemed to hold up well but I haven't seen that car in a while so I don't know if the weld has failed yet.

Hm, gone back to welding after Alu after a couple of years. Can conclusively say that i have pretty much forgotten how to do it.

    New welder probably isnt helping.

not yet, but i dont think those blowers make a ton of boost anyway. water injection would go on to solve that before an intercooler setup anyway

That blower looks like it will be protruding through the bonnet by some distance.

I finally finished the welding on my 1j manifold. Next step... see if it fits in the celica.

On alloy how long do you usually do a pass and how do you restart without it looking very obvious??

It's Tom's from Bullet Cars. It's one of the old prototype chassis that have double wishbone front suspension as appose to the McPherson strut. It's being built for land speed racing on the salt flats. The front end has been lengthened and its running a supercharged 1uz with t56 with custom made steel bell housing.

Can you talk us through the process you use to do this? And whats a root pass? I will be welding my wastegate to my exhaust housing soon and i dont want it to fall off.

If you wanted to go full time and was in adelaide I have all the contacts you would ever need in the food industry, you would smash out stainless stuff all day but be paid a shit load more than people pay for car parts.

Thanks for the thought. I could do D&C for the food industry. I spent 3 years designing, managing, and installing all sorts of equipment for the food industry prior to my current job. Ive have actually never been to SA although I did design a conveyor system for the meatworks in Naracoorte, I got out of having to do the install on that one tho. I have a folder full of contacts for suppliers but not being in the sales side of things no client contacts.
