    Fuck you VW

In a bit of a bind here, and some advice/thoughts would be welcome.

Our 2009 VW tiguan developed a little clunking noise when you let out clutch a while ago. Got it checked out by dealer. First thing they said that it was a known thing and its 'normal'. It got a little worse a week after that, and pissed off we sent the thing back to workshop. a day later and they tell us its an engine mount and will have to fly one in! wait 2 days, get car back in, mount goes in, and lo problem not fixed. Its another engine/gearbox mount, will need another. So, its gone in again!!

Meanwhile we have sold the Tiguan and are awaiting for new owners to sort finance They didn't pick up the noise and wante dthe car, no problems. Nopics being an honest woman have advised the buyers that a noise was picked up that VW will be fixing said issue while we wait for monies.

Its been a couple days and VW tell us they can't find source of said clunk!

    Fuck!

Now, we have bought replacement car, and have no idea how to go about the sale of the Tiguan if the noise doesn't go away and buyers say no thanks. Be fucked if we end up with an unsellable $30k car

    Thoughts?

What can you do? At least VW acknowledge it's a problem. Wait for them to fix it and keep hassling until they do.

You might have to return any deposit you have from the buyers though.

Maybe you should have let it go to them and let them claim under warranty but that boat's sailed.

No, Wangara, still a bunch of fuckwits.

Yes, Nopics should have kept her mouth shut

Yeah, its under warranty, and we have told them we don't want the car back until its fucking fixed (yes, I used those words). We at least are in a position where we don't need the car, but still, theres $30k on the line here and its a position that we do not want to be in.

    Cunt

    Don't jinx the Rover!

Seriously though, it does help that the lemon laws will help in regards to getting the piece of shit fixed. I only hope the buyers will have the patience and understanding of the situation.

    LOL, no doubt

They seem cool with it. Girl who wants the car doesn't need it until the 16th, and was happy to leave it in our hands till then if we still needed transport. All very understanding. We have assured them it will be dealt with, but one can never trust the deal until its done.

    We'll see

Local manufacturer has recently replaced a falcadore that had a mysterious clunk they could not diagnose, despite having the car several times and replacing most of the front end.

    Allegedly

I would tell VW the car is sold pending rectification of the clunk, and/or just tell the buyer its all fixed.

Just curious, where is the clunk coming from and when does it happen i.e: does it only happen when turning a corner?. I have no idea on the front suspension on a Tiguan but make sure they took the front shock tower dust cap off just to check if the top bolt is secure. Sometimes the simple things are overlooked.

Thats what you get for buying a gay euro softroader.

Your only chance of redemption is that you better be spending the $30k on a 408 Clevor and 9" for the stang...!

The clunk comes from when the clutch is dropped, mainly 1st and second. which leads me to think its a gearbox/driveline issue. The fuckers haven't found it yet.

Yeah, we have told VW its sold pending rectification. 'sif that matters. If I had my way I would just give the car to buyers and say its fixed, let them deal with it if it still there.

get yourself a 13 , 16 , 18 and 21mm socket and short 1/2 inch extension . Use a breaker bar to tighten all the subframe bolts . Tighten the torque mount as well , dont go too far on the 13mm bolts though cause they will break if overtightened (which is easy to do !) Make sure all the 18mms are tight , including the one that you need the extension to get through the control arm . See if that makes a difference . Cunts never tighten these and it pisses me off cause it says it needs to be checked EVERY SERVICE! As these cars have a laser welded chassis the subframe will move and bolts will come loose !
I wanna do 8s bruv! Without no stinkin' POWERCHIP

Thanks for that. Interestingly enough this confirms some info on a couple other forums I found lately. Will be passing this on to service cunts at VW.

Sounds to me like they're trying to avoid a gearbox warranty by replacing all the cheap possible sources first.

The thought did occur to me.

The cunts rang my wife today and they reckoned they got under it and did everything they could to source problem. They tell her its the steering rack! mmm, how the fuck? Now we got to wait for it to be trucked from east.

Am putting an E-mail together and asking some pertinent questions. Too fucking hard for me deal with this shit in butt fuck. Nopics hands are full with 6 month old. Cunts

Edit - cunts got back to me. They say all subframe bolts are good, so that throws that out. We shall see what happpens with the steering. Fuck knows how thats relevent, but anyway.

Have a mate which purchased a golf tsi new. It's done 300000 and it copped a leaky water pump which required a tow. Few months later the engine needed to be replaced I'm guessing due to it overheating. Now his got a judder during take off from idle (dual clutch). It's been in more than once to get it fixed but the problem is still there. Not acceptable for a new car.
