Considering SMSP South is 1800m, and this is 1600m, it shouldn't be that bad for a change. But I don't think it'll eclipse Wakefield! Cunt of a drive, but it's a great track for Supersprints at least.

Interestingly, Luddenham seems to have given CAMS a miss? So no official CAMS sanctioned events I guess.

The way I read it was that they may be giving everything a miss and going on their own?
I lack the open mind to believe in a lot of pretend concepts...like magic, or aliens, or reliable rotaries...also unicorns don't exist. Either you can accept those as scientific facts, or one of these Christmas's, you are in for a rude awakening when you discover Santa Clause isn't real

hopefully luddenham does get cams certified, would be way cool to see them in the nsw supersprint cship

Nah, I'm not in the NSW CAMS SS, just the BMW SS Championship, which is a CAMS sanctioned series I believe, so they need a CAMS approved track.

    -I think.....

Would this be why you have to pay for a Luddenham track licence? Do any other tracks mandate this? I haven't raced on Aussie tracks for some time...

^^ Yeah I reckon this "track licence" thing is pretty bullshit TBH. Why just say casual track days cost $xxx instead of $xxx + $yy (for a so called licence).

Its a cash grab, it makes the day itself appear cheaper yet no doubt offset's quite a lot of insurance costs except without it being proportional to the actual cost to the consumer.
Not an issue if you go every weekend but they know most people go a couple of times a year tops so it's not a bad earner for a 2 minute speech, video on a TV and a laminator.

They dont have it on the kart track and that's probably a bigger can of worms because its their equipment being hired.

Well the ELEVATIONS at Circuit Italia are happening according to a good friend. "The earthworks have begun on Circuit Italia. The elevations are at last starting to reveal themselves, as is the generous 20m width and the sweeping nature of the fantastic layout design. Hopefully the developers will re-start their publicity/loyal followers info machine to keep us up to date with the progress"

would be a pity if they dont get cams rego at luddenham. i would like to see it as part of the supersprint championship. having a "state" championship running across 2 tracks for a whole year is a bit lame

Reading between the lines is that dealing with CAMS is more trouble than its worth

I don't think they want to though, if they can get decent private numbers week to week - why would you want to host seriously formal events from a buisness point of view?

If it was worth it business wise they would of bitten down and dealt with CAMS but yeah, heartache, pain, external interferance and no doubt being dictated how to do things means they will try it their way.

-Licensing: Every participant must hold a valid Luddenham Raceway Motorsport Park License to participate in events held at Luddenham Raceway Motorsport Park (Day licenses will be $30.00 and Yearly licenses $100.00) if you hold a CAMS or AASA license you will still be required to hold a Luddenham License.

This is no different to QR. Even with CAMS licence you still need a QR Clubman licence which is/was $65 per year last time I checked. Something to do with insurance, and it sounds they are going it alone without CAMS, just as John Tetley has.

Lol requested a date at Luddenham
Which I do most years for my birthday ( June long weekend)

    8k for the full day

You have to provide you own insurance for the day

And pay the license of 100 per driver

And they charge a 15% public holiday fee ( Ling weeekend)

    So 12-14k day minimum
    Lol

Fuck me cheaper to hire smsp

    14000/40=350 for get even

Sau gp track day at smsp go track 300 entry for the day

    Lol no brainer

So Luddenham have priced themselves out as far as I can tell

But how much for the ++ services???

And will they let you run without them????

Also, they may be looking more for car launch type events than track days for the hiring of the track as they may be looking at running the track day stuff themselves and having other people would compete with that, but price it accordingly and they make good money from the hirer.
