That's a lot windier than they prefer, but glass smooth water is also bad for a record run. Too much drag, light chop is the ideal

I reckon they'll give it a red hot go. Old Ken is a lot smarter than many give him credit for.

The aero/hydro at that speed is the big unknown but I reckon they will sneak up on it gathering info the whole way.

Their report says it reached 140 MPH in one of the tests & that aint hanging about.

if you mean light chop as completely flat as glass with that very tiny chop then yeah i agree its awesome waterskiing over that stuff

problem is that its always patchy (shared with glass) and those conditions never last long

hope they get their ideal conditions.

    From Ken himself:

“We are looking for a five to six inch ripple on the water and that breaks the surface and aerates under the boat and reduces the drag.”

^^^ Spot on. We play with Avon Descent boats here in the west and the glassy stuff is "sticky". A wind ripple (or not being the first boat down the river) is ideal. Makes a noticeable difference on these boats doing 70kmh. Would be substantial on the game the mad men are playing. Hats off to them.

Gets up on the plane easily lol.
Surprisingly almost no aero on it and relatively short IMHO.
I'm sure theyve done heaps of CFD and they'll smash a record this year!
