Some external video of the car.
Last segment has the car accelerate, and you can hear us pick 4th.
Sounds very nice on full song.

    Fridays Media day.
Broke a driveshaft. Got left out in Kowen to change it. They locked they forest on me.

    Saturday.
Broke a rear shock when the rear beam crushed the remote canister into the underside of the car.
Found this at frist service after completing mornings stages. As we had completed more tha 50% of day, were given penalty time and allowed to start Sunday.

    Sunday
Gearbox popping out of gear. Tooth on 3rd broke off, trapped itself between box casing and input shaft, and penetrated casing and snapping the primary shaft.
    Event over after 6.5 kilometres.

    We finished an event.

After having a shocker in Canberra where we broke the input shaft and an MCA shock, we actually crossed the line.

Finished first in class, 4th outright and I think 4th 2wd. Some quick Datsuns out there.

New factory box with H pattern took some getting used to, and we missed a few gears, but it went well.

Will look over car in coming weeks.
Fix hole in flex joint, look at sticky pistons in the front calipers and change all fluids.

Other than that, looking forward to the SA round of the ARC.
See if I can knock off that pesky RX7 of Mr Kaplan.

Great build as everyone has said!

Will you be going back to the sequential once fixed/sorted or sticking with the H pattern now?

Stick with H pattern for now until we get a little bit more seat time.
Easier to replace factory box than the sequential in this trial period.

Tractive or PAR look like good options for future use.

    Video from the weekend.

After numerous box failures we are biting the bullet and getting a 6 speed sequential made.

Mr Modena wants in to the FWD crowd and is willing to give it a go if we become crash test dummies.

    Done.

Also, the factory fuel tank is getting a canning underneath from rocks.
I have had the protection crushed and worn away in the last 2 events. Time to move it inside.
Have got a quote from ATL for a 45 litre tank.

Can't make an alloy one for the spare wheel well or does it need to be some special FIA rubbish?
Looking for 86 GSXR bits. PM me

Bladder has to be FIA approved.
Lose a fair bit of weight in change over. There is a wheel well tank you can purchase, but not enough fuel storage.

Having seen some of ATL's stuff up close... fuck me if it isn't worth every cent though. Those tanks are works of art compared to the cheap shit.

Watch out for the bladder expiry date. Like harness dates, you want to get as close to when you first actually want to use it.

And you can only have the bladder re-certified once (I think)?

Correct. There is a 4 week lead in. 2 weeks delivery
5 years on bladder with 1 extension.
Based on overall price, it is basically the cost of 2 tyres per year for life of bladder, but fittings and case reduce costs slightly.
Can purchase bladder at end of life separate from other ancillaries.
