Just over 2 years. That included getting cams approval for an engine swap, loss of my job and fabrication of a he'll of a lot of stuff.
Still some touch ups to be completed, but it moves under its own power.

    Tune day.

    Did not go as planned.
    Somehow missing 45 Kw.
Only putting out 105, not 150.

Investigations into why this may be so continuing.

You can see cam profile being activated.
Need to move activation a bit further up the rev range, as it causes a power drop.

Engine builder at a loss also.
Need to get logging activated and put a lambda input into the ecu.

Am hoping it was the way it was tied to the dyno, the tyres being run, silly soft rally tyres at 38psi, and a dyno callibration issue.
Will look at getting a run on another dyno with some road, or similar tyres.

Just have to find some rims.

Car ran crisply all the way to 8500 no issues.

Did not sound like it only had 103kw. Drive home spun front wheels in 1, 2 and 3rd gears.

Just want to get out there and run the thing full tilt.

It seems to be kicking in. Have to move itup the rev range to about 6250 to get the most from the change.

Reading up, and how I do that currently.

I remember when I had my sprinter we never really used to tie it down because it didn't have enough grunt to need it... the one time we did we couldn't work out why it was making 25kw less than it did last time, removed the straps and instantly made another 30kw

How does it feel on the "butt dyno"? Like its making the power it should?

"Butt Dyno", as above spins wheels in the first few gears and just ups and goes.

A bit of seat time and getting used to a sequential box and the pedal box should get me close to sorted.

Might have to do a few Hills runs., or the tarmac rally sprints (if we can get enough entrants).

I'm thinking this could be part of the problem

Spoke with a tuner in Newcastle who said the same thing, and combined with the rally tyres may go some way to solving it.

If it spins the wheels in 3rd its in the ball park. Make sure the tune is right, dont worry about the kw figure and just drive it

    Found an extra 30kw.

Updating the ecu with some appropriate figures, and we will see where we can get to.

    It feels better. Much better.
Wheel spin on tarmac, no torque steer due to lsd. Amazing.

    First dirt hit out.

    Went ok.

Very next run broke a driveshaft. Failure in the gearbox side shaft snapped.

Had a spare, so changed and continued on at test day.

    Needed new bumper.
Rear mudflap caught on hay bale and ripped part of it off. No panel damage.
Bought a spare import bar from parts supplier for $100, and it was brand new.
