This is just for fun, I don't expect it to win much,It would be an outrite car for this and the last couple of years but bottom of top 3 when the big boys come out.
Ash was doing high 62s in the borrowed Monaro and this should be 1/2 second faster than that but the lap record will head towards 60 sometime 2014, The VN wont get near that.

Post away, I'm not bothered. Anything that gets more cars on the track is good.

I was going Tex101 but think Ill just go Holinger from the start. Cheap enough now.

There is no way I would use that ... That drive plate will explode ...I have seen numerous do this over the years

Most recently I removed one from a RX 7 a customer had purchased ..gearbox needed repair ..the drive plate was minutes from exploding ...it had various cracks

I say this as I don't want to see u hurt Steve ...or your car damaged

Not 100% sure who makes raw rim but I got them from WHEEL WAREHOUSE , They can set up whatever offset and stud pattern you want within reason. Im using NASCAR parts so went with 5in5" stud pattern. 5in120 hubs were avalible but i like the wide pattern and beefy studs. I needed 18x9 40 offset due to Shitty VN body clearance.

I don't recommend VNs as a base, This was cheap and I don't like Holdens IRS. If i was starting from scratch Id build a VK.
The 16x8 rim is better than the 1455kg when you see how light the old girls can be with LS engine.

how heavy are they steve ? , do they look well made are a bit rough ? .

You think VN has some offset issues , try +45 rear and +30 front if I want to run 9's under a VL using the std diff length and not modifying the guards .

Is it the wheel arches causing problems Steve ?

I've always had a soft spot for VR / VS...

These rims look perfect, Quite happy with them. Not sure of weight yet but feel quite light.
VNs crap rear body work is a pain, Inner wheel well has a box shaped panal that causes issues.
My rear end was made easier by using a Cambered 9" diff. 40 offset all round works for me now.

I really wish I had gone EM due to how light these old Commos can be built. 16x8 would be much better than the weight I have to add.

Paul, I don't like Holdens IRS and I believe VR/S V8s were IRS? If they did come with LRA id stay well clear of the VN.
If I crash this car i'd reshell VB-VK with a real Chev engine.

VR / VS were available with both IRS and LRA mate. The cop spec / acclaim / SS were all IRS but the povvo execs etc got live axle...

Riddo has just built a very sexy looking VK with tough LS1 but i think getting 400 odd rwhp to the ground through 225's will be the hard part...

    Fixed.

Those have been the wheels I have been considering for a little while for my car due to being able to run custom widths/offsets for cheap. They really look the goods!

The wheels seem cvery good, The guys I got them from were happy to do anything I asked.
I'm not sure the 225 will be to bad? 200kg would make less HP an option for a very drivable engine with long life.

Ok, I think I just got a VS to reshell the VN to make it a Tad less Coon.
