That's a pretty good price, will look at that in a couple of months.
I'll grab a turbosmart boost valve, boost guage & fuel pressure dohicky thing at the same time & crank it up a bit - could use a bit more grunt when she's loaded up & pulling shit uphill.

If this is a spain (VSK) D40 then the best thing you can do is fit a new genuine fuel filter and get a fuel pump learn clear done. Also I have replaced shitloads of VNT solenoids for low power and excess lag. I don't recommend chips etc for these generally, injector life usually suffers.

If you do some googling there is a guy in the UK that has gone to a gt28rs I think on his. He also documented the build from stock so it gives a good indication on what makes power in these things.

You can put the bleed on the map sensor, which is near the drivers side of the intercooler from memory.

Motor coming out, 140,000K's & it's done a head gasket, timing chains sound like they're about to fall off too, so it's getting a full freshen up.

That's not a lot of miles for a diesel :/

Thatís so shit. Please do a full autopsy and put it up here. Iím always interested to know why modern diesels are hand grenades. Mate of mine just had his D40 snap a crank in two at 250k.

Combination of cost cutting in production and small capacity engines getting pushed harder than ever.

Head gasket was a weird one-off type failure, split a layer around a head bolt hole & pushed out letting coolant just flow out. Not blown into chambers or anywhere else, looks mint elsewhere.
But lucky it blew, bottom single row chain was weeks from failing, tensioner had popped out due to chain stretch & wear, vac pump pulley missing several teeth, guides chopped up by the loose chain right through to the alloy & a couple were broken.
Top chain was also stretched, but not as bad.
It's getting a full double row conversion.

Rest of the motor looks pretty mint, bearings like new, bores real good etc.
Not even a whole lot of carbon in the head. It'll get a full freshen & with the chain issue fixed & a fresh high quality head gasket should be good to go for another 300,000K's.
