A 4 cylinder mustang is wrong on so many levels, no matter how fuel efficient or powerful it is.

I agree it does look good though.

Yep, the early Fox body SVO turbo 2.3 had more balls then the 5.0 iirc.
But anyone who buys a Mustang with anything other then a manual V8 is a ranging faggot, unless they get a V8 auto to drag race.

Ive met multiple (retarded) people who have had non-V8 mustangs and have been proud of it as they told me

"Only V6 one in the state!" ..and then started it and revved it..

"This is super rare, not many convertable 4 cylinders were made"

I'd guess they won't sell the middle spec ones with the Tornarse EcoBoost 6, unless they're faster than the V8 ones maybe. They'll sell the EcoBoost 4, and the upper ones, IMHO.

They will have learned people won't buy stuff that's sub-Falcon-quality & pay higher-than-HSV premiums from the last Mustang. So I doubt they'll try that on again. Mind you, the last one was probably converted to RHD rather than being designed that way; probably makes a huge difference.

It's probably fairly safe to find a Toyota or Honda or whatever car in the USA that costs the same as the various levels of Mustang, and use the price of the equivalent Toyonda here to extrapolate the Mustang price.

    *edit*
Hmm ... I doubt they'll sell the basic GT here, and that lines-up about the same price as an Accord V6 with leather. So about $45k RRP? My guess is that XR pricing will prolly be about right ... 6's priced like XR6, 8's about where the XR8 used to sit in the market, and if they bring in something fancy like a GT500 that'll be FPV/HSV money.

They should do a tweaked Ecoboost 4 version with a bit of weight reduction and call it the SVO. Something mildly track orientated. No one would buy it though. How about a Barra 6-powered version?

I think it will be a good thing for Ford Australia as there is a widespread historical admiration for the Mustang even though it was never sold here in great numbers.

Ford USA will never let the barra survive.
Not to mention its hard to get long engines to comply with pederpstrian laws.

If Ford get greedy and try to price it like a 370Z they'll only get a handful of sales.

But as ive said before they need 1000 sales a month to justify RHD engineering and production.
500 odd to Oz, 200 to UK, 100 to Jap, 100 to SA and the rest throughout Asia and India

Australia is the third largest market for the FT86 with sales over 500 a month (with just two models), so it proves the market is there for RWD coupes priced well.
Australia is also the largest market outside America for personally imported Mustangs.

I think if they price the base V6/Ecoboost at mid high $30s, V8 low $40s, with premium models $5k extra and convertibles another $5k premium I think they'll sell well.

i dont think the v6 ecoboost will get a shoe in

its an expensive motor and its used to push 2 ton hogs like Taurus, Edges and F150s

in a 1.5 ton shell its just nuts

if the 4 cyl is about $35k you can fuck the 86 off completely... the ecoboost 4 does 330Nm!

It will have an Ecoboost 2.3, which will have something like 450Nm

Yeah? Suddenly I'm interested. 1450kg + V8 would be all sorts of awesome.

Bring on the smaller lighter Alpha-platform Camaro too, I say.

I wonder what price point they are going to get here in oz. Weren't they uber expensive last time they sold them here?
    Webber 1st Monaco 2010 & 2012. 215 races, 9 wins. Not bad for a No2.

Yeah, but they were cheaper then the "import" Mustangs iirc. And they still lost money on them.
