Was just going to post. And looking like an aston isn't the worst thing they could have done.

I heard a rumour, again this is the third party telling you, that a V8 will sell at the $50k mark at current exchange rates. In line with a SS/ XR8 sort of thing.

The argument was they will also have to contend with the SRT8 and possible Hyundai coupe.

Isn't "Ecoboost" just like "Skyactive" or "Trimatic" ... a name attached to nothing particularly unusual?
eg. isn't the Ecoboost 2.0 just a higher-than-historically-average-for-turbo CR Mazda MZR engine with direct injection?
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

assuming its the falcon ecoboost there's nothing special about it except for the fact it runs on 91 swill

    redbook again

    Engine Location Front
    Power 179kW @ 5500rpm
    Configuration In-line
    Torque 353Nm @ 2000rpm
    Engine Size (cc) 1999
    Induction System Turbo Intercooled
    Cam DOHC with VVT
Fuel Type Petrol - Unleaded ULP
    Engine Cycle 4 Stroke
    Fuel Tank Capacity (litres) 68
    Engine Type Piston
Fuel Delivery Direct & Multi-Point Injection
    Engine Number JGSW8R#####
    Method of Delivery Electronic Sequential
    Engine Code EcoBoost
    Fuel Urban (l/100km) 12.2
    Cylinders 4
    Carbon Dioxide (g/km) 201
    Valves per Cylinder 4
    Fuel Extra Urban (l/100km) 6.4
    Compression Ratio 9.3

i'd say it works fine with either box and a good 150-200kg less than a coon

The Mustang 4cyl one is supposed to be 2.3L; but yeah, it'll basically be a Mazda3 MPS engine in essence.

I certainly hope it's that low, where did you get that figure? at under 50 grand I might break my long standing tightass rule of not buying new cars.

ecoboost means direct injection turbo with an emphasis on fuel economy. the Miami is supercharged and doesn't have direct injection, though I read somewhere that the Coyote was package protected to run it. The turbo straight 6 would get the ecoboost badge before the supercharged 8 would.

I don't reckon the mustang needs a supercharger, I've driven (very briefly) a boss GT (coyote) and a shelby GT 500 (supercharged 5.8 litre whatever) and would take the naturally aspirated one any day. IRS might change that.

While I agree with you form the POV of my own personal interest ... are Holden having any trouble keeping up with demand for the sub-$50k SS, which is probably a faster & better-built car that's also the sedan bodyshape which people seem to prefer as well as having the Holden badge which is preferred by about 80% of it's target-market (ie. over anything with a Ford badge)?

    it'll be like the monaro

pent up demand = sold out for 2yrs then... tumbleweeds when people realise a gas guzzling coupe is as useful as tits on a bull

    Quick look on redbook shows The FG with the 5.0SC @ 82k list ( GT-P). GT @ 72k. GS @ 53k
There is no N/A model anymore?
OT: just looking at redbook and the product lineup seems to stupid for FPV.

    Is Ford/FPV brand selling them?

Either way I don't see this being anywhere near 50k even with the n/A V8 especially as they love to slap on the coupe tax.

Correct, there is no N/A Falcon V8 anymore. In fact there is no non-FPV way to get a V8 in a Falcon anymore.

While they might make more power and torque outta the box, (not once modified) anyone who wants a 4cyl in their Mustang probably also wants a cock inserted in to each of their major orifices.
    Hide yo' wife!!!
