Cheers Mike, Iíll send you a PM shortly if it doesnít disappear soon and work something out.

Incidentally I went and saw a local 2013 wagon today (6.2 NA model). Tidy exterior that just needs a bit of paint correction but front seats and centre console are a bit ratty - donít look like theyíre made to last. 24k on the clock. Owner wants 85 but reality is probably high 60s and I think he can be talked round (been for sale for months and wonít be going anywhere at 85k).

Other option is 2018 demo at 127k onroad.

Its been a rollercoaster of emotions mate. I think its safe to say my soul is richer for the experience. Have to have a coldie and share a few stories soon.

Glad you took the plunge. Life is too short to drive vanilla cars. Look forward to a debrief.

So old mate with the 2013 6.2L reckons Carsales suggests a price of 96k to him but inexplicably when I look itís in the 50s and 60s (dependent on private sale or dealer purchase and condition). Iíve given up on that one.

Still keen on the 2016 4.0TT and hoping to get it briefly looked over for anything obvious. Dealership in Newcastle wonít do a prepurchase inspection (Iíve not had that issue before).

Owner seems like a decent dude and Iím going to throw a deposit on it if it all looks okay.

Need to flick the M140i now.

    ^^^This seems cheap!

I have a 2017 C63, has 16k on the clock, most of which I have done in the past 7 months.

    Quick thoughts;

    1. Sounds amazing. I wanted a V8 before they die out and these are the best.
    2. Its a comfortable care to spend time and a joy to drive.
    3. It sucks the juice. I knew it would going in so this isn't a complaint.
    4. It rips through tyres, but surprisingly its the fronts not the rears. The front runs -2.xx camber and cant be adjusted from the factory. So at 16k it needs fronts but the rears have heaps of life.
    5. So glad I bought it.

Cant wait to buy an AMG GTS next!

Canít believe old mate with the local C63, heís been sending me screenshots of valuations that heís faked. Changed the car on Carsales from a base model to a 507 (which go for more) then taken a screenshot of priceassist without the filters showing (so itís comparing all years C63). Problem is he forgot to change the car back to a base model afterwards and itís still showing as a 507.

A few vendors like Eurocharged and Renntech do handhelds that flash in tunes via the OBD2 port. They are not cheap though.

So, I had a 2009 C63 Estate which was taken from me and now have a 2014 507 Estate. I doubt I will ever sell it - literally have to steal it out of my hands again.

They sound great. Think peak thongslapper.
Really nice place to be in a traffic jam.
They drink, particularly if you get on the loud pedal. Conversely, you can expect to get ~10L/100km on the highway at 100 km/hr.
15000 km for a set of rears is spectacularly good. Expect 8ish.

The newer twin turbo 4 litre one is much more refined.

C63 - what do they cost to own?

I have the TTV8 version (2016). The 2019 model you might call refined, but mine is miles from it.

In the lower gears, the 7 speed is jerky and makes it look like youíre learning to drive a manual. It is the stiffest chassis Iíve ever owned, turning into my driveway at home and at the office it cocks a rear wheel right in the air and wobbles from side to side while the TC tries to figure out what is going on. Ride is bone jarring with rattles everywhere. Still chews through tyres and pads -rear pads just changed at 25k and literally next to nothing left. Itís thrown a CEL but I think it was a one off - O2 sensor related - cleared and hasnít returned.

Still love it though. Dropping it back a couple of gears and flooring it results in either annoyed or envious stares, depending on their point of view.

Just slapped a new set of 4 tyres onto the nopics' C63. We got 50,000kms out of them but we squeeze every inch of life. They were Pirellis.

However, we are doing general Sydney commuting and doing freeway kms but nopics is a nut and drives 50%-75% everywhere. No fast ball tearing mountain runs or smoke shows.

We just did the engine mounts for $1,300. Car feels awesome now.

I've had my 2010 C63 since late 2016 and it's a very, very good thing.

    Comically murderous and analogue car.

As GT said, highway around 10l/100km

    Nanny around town? 13l/100km

    Normal driving 15-18l/100km around town

    constant mang? 20+

I don't get the jerky low speed stuff - but same deal on getting into driveway! I test drove a different one when I bought mine and it had horrible rattles and noises coming from all over the interior but this one seems to be OK. I'm just about to tick over 30,000km and it is still on original tyres, and did F&R pads at 28,000km so might suggest I'm light on the tools

Oh and standard out of the box they get along alright (11.8)

Have you guys not had the issues with the front camber chewing out tyres? I put a camber kit in.

Picking a wheel up on driveways is really common, you get used to it. I find its not a fun car to flick around on normal roads, but over the mountains where there is less undulations on the road surface it has awesome grip and is good fun.

    Economy is - based on the trip computer read out;

    - average for the past 12,000km is 15.9l/100.
    - average highway is under 10km/100km

My best is 11.6 on a 300km country run. Otherwise it is high teens but really, fuel figures are redundant for this car

Fronts get chewed bad on 205s, from the base up to the 63 almost every one I see has worn fronts and ok tears. Mainly on the outside edge.

Is it mandatory for every c63 owner (regardless of vintage) to give it a hit from every set of lights or break in traffic?

I'm not complaining as it sounds glorious but they would have to be the most "hooned" prestige car ever.

Yes and your perception is probably correct. C63 owners do give it a stab. When i'm talking to Nopics on her way home from work there is generally always 1-2 traffic light Grand Prix events during the call.

In comparison i get bugger all interest from other cars in my M5 but that's a BMW stereotype. The number of bloody M3s and M4s i've tried to stir up and none have been interested

In the last year i've had one traffic light Grand Prix vs a BMW S1000R. I do miss having a car that attracts other drivers to egg you on a bit. I'll be switching to a Mercedes next.

Nope. RS3s are hooned much worse, probably because they've got a chip on their shoulder because they can't afford a C63.

So true. I donít think Iíve ever driven next to one in the Lambo that didnít carry on like a fuckstick.
