Yeah, with a bit of luck, I wouldn't be too surprised to see Ric potentially looking at a 3rd towards the end of the race.
Just put $10 on Ric to get a podium.

Ricciardo cops a 5 spot grid penalty due to a gearbox change.
Yeah, in the scheme of things it's not going to matter unless he's caught up in mid-pack battles in the first lap.
Wow, did Webber just have a go at Pascal Wehrlein? lol
Woah big stab into Wherline from webber!!!
What'd he say?
Sutherland Shires #1 Escort? is that like being the 4th best prostitute in Kazahkstan?
He basically said "I've never rated Pascal and now he's shown his true softcore inner, so he's not racing today".
He had a couple yesterday too, saying he's an F1 driver, he should just man up and deal with it basically. If he doesn't finish then it's better not to have tried at all or something like that. I'm assuming he said much the same today?
Everyone does realise there's a Melbourne specific thread right?
He's pretty much right. Pascal should be there racing. It's a real bad look that he's not.
That new kid who drove instead of Wehrlein did bloody well.

Would be interesting to find out what is different between the Haas, Sauber & the Factory Ferrari setups given Haas lost both cars and Sauber lost one. It's great that Ferrari are matching the Mercs for speed but I'd hate to see them suffer the same reliability issues of the customer teams.

If in doubt power out
He had a couple of days testing in the Sauber before this in Barcelona, so not zero time. Still a good effort though.
They didn't appear to be lacking in speed
Why was everyone shitting on Lance Stroll so hard? Yes he's a pay driver and daddy is doing it but so what?
The cunt is an F3 champion and it was his first race in a 1000hp monster F1 car..
At least give him a few rounds before writing him off.
This has probably been discussed before but with the amount of testing he did last year in a 2014 F1 car he should of been on par with "retired" Massa. Some people say he was gifted the F3 title.
He shouldn't need a few rounds. Giovinazzi came 2nd in F3 and with only 1hr of setup on Saturday was able to impress everyone.
The report claims his father, the fashion mogul and billionaire Lawrence Stroll, bought the Prema F3 team and installed well-known Ferrari engineer Luca Baldisserri to oversee Stroll's rise. Young Stroll was then the clear No. 1 driver this year, benefiting from F1 engineers seconded to his F3 campaign and a special simulator installed at Williams' Grove base.
He also embarked on a round-the-world test program with a 2014 Williams, supported by a staff of 20, five Mercedes engineers and two engines prepared specifically by Mercedes. Stroll's F1 test program went to Silverstone, Hungary, Monza, Austria, Barcelona, Abu Dhabi, Austin and Sochi.
Williams' Pat Symonds admits: "The last rookie with that many kilometers of testing for his debut was Jacques Villeneuve."
Not only that, Lawrence Stroll paid for a new high-tech simulator at Williams' race shop, which Williams F1 drivers Bottas and Felipe Massa could not use throughout the year as it was calibrated for F3.
RIP Sir Jack Brabham AO, OBE (1926-2014) 3 World Titles, Legend.
All the above is true - the only thing missing is the fact his dad also bought the best F3 team and made it clear who was the #1 and #2 driver
So the reason people are shitting on him is due to the fact he couldn't have had a more privileged path to the sport but despite that he's spent an awful lot of time in the fence

Dad will become 51% share holder of Liberty.
Buys F1 Title.
M-Cars follow the idea that power should be felt & not seen
Dad is rich.
Not that rich.

I don't think stroll did too badly, first F1 race he didn't bin it and made some positions. Paid or not he ran until the car broke. I guess though LOLdonado was paid up and won a race so guess that's benchmark
