It's called the MT10 mate Triple sounds tits but so does their 4 cyls too.

Why wouldn't you get the MT10? internet serious question.

Nope the triple is all about massive amounts of torque and nothing like the 10 in sounds either. I've not come across anything the 09 won't rip a new one in a traffic light drag as it makes instant wheel lofting torque right off the line.

Why no MT10 - have you looked at one? Seriously, I reckon they are ugly but I don't think they are as ugly now as when I first saw them. But I'd be lucky to get $10k for my bike and then have to drop another 17k for one of those and right now I feel I've got too much in my bike to sell it yet...and I am about to pull the trigger on a suspension upgrade which is the last thing to really make better on this now aside from some CL brake pads once I've polished off the stockers.

Been talking selling the car too though and I have mentioned selling car, and bike and getting a run around car and dropping serious coin on a fancy 2 wheeler. Have you seen the new Norton's?? Fuck me sideways the want is mega (and the price is too at $44k!). I keep having thoughts of X-Diavels too.

The new MT09 looks a lot more similar now hey. Is it 27k for a MT10? That's a fair bit. My beamer was 20k and it's not a turd - welcome to try it out if you haven't already ridden one.

Which model Norton? If you get a fancy 2 wheeler, would you use that for going to work?

MT-10 is a bit under $19k on road. The triples do sound heaps better.

Ooops looks like I might have just slipped and ordered new Andreani fork cartridges and an Ohlins rear shock. Hopefully arrive while I'm on leave and will get fitted and set up by MPE suspension up here. Might sus out how much extra to paint the fork tubes 2k black while it's apart as been keen to black them out and makes sense while they are in bits.

Any ideas what painting fork tubes might cost?

Paint won't last all that long, powdercoat or hard anodizing will be better for a for leg.

Get them Kashima coated and the legs DLC (Diamiond like carbon) coated for extra Pub cred points.

Yeh those are the options - paint, anodise or powdercoat but wasnt sure if powdercoat might be too thick and anodising black I've heard mixed reports - varying colour, fading etc....also be the most expensive option I reckon. I'll just ask the shop as no doubt they know.

That DLC shit is crazy good. We used to buy second hand(!) nascar wrist pins to use in V8SC engines. They looked brand new after a couple thousand miles in a nascar and still looked brand new after we were done with them

    Yamaha MT09

Awwww yeeehhh, going in tomorrow morning. Going to leave the fork colour alone for now as I've been draining the bank account like crazy lately.

Much of a commute to get to work up there? It must be a pretty short ride to some nice roads too.

Well fuck that's a little better now!!!! /i/

Massive difference from the second I rolled out the driveway and far more confidence inspiring now. You don't even notice small bumps and big stuff is just soaked up and you go where you're supposed to! Well worth it.

Steve - 16kms versus 12 in Bris but pretty boring. Some good rides nearby though and got some pre mapped rides to go explore this weekend weather permitting! Can't wait!

Yeah did you get out on the weekend?

It's been either patchy showers or hot as balls here lately. Neither are my liking for riding.

I went for a short blast but it was, as you said, hotter than Satan's arsehole after Vindaloo night. But fuck me the bike feels good now, just so much smoother all round and none of this getting pushed offline when you hit a small bump (or a large bump now) Might click the front one softer as I ordered it set up for street/track so it's reasonably stiff - think one click down from halfway for commuting on the front and back up a click for faster stuff. Definitely a lot more feedback now and more confidence, before I just didn't trust it not to chuck me offline.

I rode my bike to work today and went from loving life on the gateway bridge to wanting to ride off the edge of Kingsford Smith. I could feel my legs burning through my jeans, brutal.

    Sounds like a worthy mod

Yeh it's fucking hot but I find I don't notice being hot and sweaty when focused on having a blast, it's only once you stop. That said I have heard the Beemers are a little hot but really in QLD, riding anything in Summer is fucking hot (especially ya Mum).

I just meant the sun. The bike gets warm but when you start every ride in traffic (New Farm) and its traffic in every direction, you can't really avoid it. I need to get out of the city - Tuscany sounds good.

    Well, it's been fun all.

Sold the MT09 to Team Moto this afternoon and as I turned 30 in Dec last year I pick up my 2017 R1200GS tomorrow morning lol.
