Boc is going to get another call about customer service tomorrow.

A mate works for BOC, I had a chat with him about how shit their customer service is and he more or less agreed and said he would get someone to call me about getting bottles delivered (i'm in a somewhat remote area) nobody called so I went with supagas instead.

If it's a power 10 bottle too then yes.

If its not a power 10 bottle then they'll probably say no.

Don't go directly to BOC or Air Liquide. Find a small welding shop that does gas, slip the guy some cash.
Well it was good while it lasted. Been doing this for about 6 years but old mate got found out so now I'm stuck with an empty air liquide bottle.

Just gonna bite the bullet and buy one of those swap bottles for $540.

I pay $13/month rental for an E2 and $50 per fill for mix and $60 per fill for argon.

That's through stargas (Elgas). Free next day delivery as well.

So a year and a half later whats the current hotness. Just got a unimig 180 and will do a little welding to start with and then it will be occasional when required. Also dont want to cart around a massive bottle for mobile jobs.

I just tell them I'm not paying 90 odd for refills each time I go in. They punch some stuff into their computer and go we can do 47. Then they complain that I should ring up and ask them to put that price on my account. But it's just easier to get them to honour their last price each time.
I only get 2 to 3 e2 a year, but it makes the swap and go places not worth it.

No rental, just a deposit on the cylinder.. If it takes you 2-3 yrs to use a cylinder, this is the way to go..

^ Bunnings would be very handy. At that price though, the price is only worth it if you use less than 1e2 cylinder a year. Once your using over 4m3 a year the price swings back in favour of the rental options.

Yeah, there's a threshold where a rented cylinder with cheaper refills becomes more economical than a cylinder with a deposit and $99 refills if you are using enough...

Obviously its aimed at hobby users that struggle to get through a bottle per year.

I bought two e bottles from total tools, swap over refill system. I don't recall what I paid, but was sick of monthly payments when not using the bottles

If I am to buy a bottle from one place, then when it runs out, can I take it to another for a refill? Will they want my existing bottle and give me another, or will they just fill it on the spot?

bottles have serial numbers and barcodes, rental mobs scan one in and one out, they don't refill on the spot.

however you could rebirth a bottle if its worth your time.

Ok by the sound of it there isn't a BOC bottle and El Gas bottle, and they wont take each others, as long as it scans they are all sweet with taking whatever you bring in?
