    Pm replied P5ych0.

Updates? I've done precisely fuck all to it in the year and a bit since the last update.
It never made it to the wedding.
It's moved back into the backyard because i got the shits with the brakes and i'm at a loss with the paintwork.
It needs a full respray, which i cant afford. I want it done well, so that rules out me doing it myself.

My last hope is a coworker who is a motor body builder by trade, he can paint really well from what i've seen.
So he has this Lancer coupe, and an FTO V6 engine, and also has an Evo gearbox, custom bellhousing and rear diff on a ship from the USA arriving in the next month.
And i'm a mechanic by trade.
So we have tentatively planned to do a labour swapping deal, where my ugly ute gets painted by him, and i assemble a FrankenV6evolancerdealy (after he mods the floor for rear Evo subframe). He wants to turbo it too!

Will the deal ever come to fruition? I don't know, i'm not holding my breath, i'm quite jaded in life by now.
He's not a shit talking dreamer, and has previously built his own awd EvoMirage, but yeah, we'll see.
If it doesn't happen, i'll give up and rage quit.

Well life has fucked me over, divorce impending, depression killing enthusiasm.
Above deal with coworker is off, what a suprise. He sold the car and all the parts.

Still got the ute, the one constant in my life. I have not given up. Started saving for a paintjob, and selling excess shit from the garage to help get the numbers up.
Had to move the ute out of the backyard so i could mow, starter motor was fucked. Managed to clutch start it and get it into the garage to fit a brand new Bosch item.
Cranks over so fast now! Not the lazy old slow 5L cranking that im used to, sounds like a new car.

I have the finished picture in my head to motivate me.
    We'll get there one day.

Keep at it, mate. While your saving up, make a little list of cheap/free things to do and just keep chipping away

On the money. Start with the small things that only cost time and little cash (even away from the car like making your bed every morning, mow the lawn, etc, etc) and just move forward.

Some progress is better than no progress

    Thanks guys.
Yeah been keeping busy cleaning every room in the house, and the garage, and yard work. It is hard with the cars because most jobs require some money for parts or materials.
Im reluctant to disassemble the ute too much for painting until its ready to go, but there are plenty of other jobs i can do on it before that.

Ive got a panel shop nearby lined up, and a vague figure for painting it to go off so i can save for that.
Bit nervous about sending it out for panel, been burnt by panel guys a few times already. I know this shop is really good and a quick turnaround, we use them at work.
Just a case of 3 times bitten..... um yeah, very shy.

Good news everyone! In what has been, and still is the darkest time of my life, the funding has been secured for the respray of the ute.
I'm pretty friendly with the painter down the road now, and he does bulk work for my employer so will look after me. He even offered to do the work and let me pay it off, something i'm reluctant to do as i hate owing people money. Not a problem now after the cash injection. So now just an inspection for a more accurate quote and then things will be in motion.

This is what i needed. A reason to get up in the morning. Something to live for. Because right now there is fuck all else to be happy about.

Imagine this but red, lower, 18's instead of 17's and no silver paintouts on the bodykit.

Or this as a ute. With red handles and mirrors. And no paint outs.

Well worth the effort and coin you put into it when finished!

Do you have those MOMO's in 18s?
EDIT Sorry I just seen the part that you bought a set off ebay a while back, nice score!

They're on the kitchen floor at the moment. I need to go see somebody about turning them from chrome plated to silver.

Ute is a porch ornament at the moment. Going to fuck my lawn up getting it back out.

Haha it's very tight, just enough room behind to do a 3 point turn to get it in. Then clench ass cheeks and try not to scrape on the outside tap.

    Yep got the caps.
It's a fucking ugly car, but yeah will be proper 90's period ugly. Like a GTSR, or an EBGT or ELGT.
Give it another 10 years and it will be a classic.

Good to hear your getting a win! Keen to see it with those momos on
    BF XR6 Turbo - 2L Turbo TE - 75 TX Coupe

    - PSN: rotacoupe

This is obviously assuming all your AUX outputs are doing something. Ie idle control, and the other does water spray, and the other updates your Instagram automatically etc.

The VS Maloo in red looks fucking tops. I see a really neat one around my area regularly, makes me jealous.
I used to work on brand new ones in predelivery when i was a first year apprentice, always loved them.

Me too. Again, not my first choice of wheel, but it HAS to have them, wouldn't seem right any other way.

Second this, VS HSV's seem to have aged the best out of all of them. no13b_iamaCunt and I were actually talking about this [Flanders one] and the VS Ute shit a few days ago.

Definately needs the Momos. I think from memory even the Roman Autotek ute had them as well? Actually, what happened to that joint?
