You would be able to enter the drags potentially via dubbo car club if you were a member.
and the car could enter the show and shine - eligible under "mixed breed"

Fucked if I'm going to drive a thirsty V8 all the way to Dubbo just for a show and shine.

    Yeah that is truly fucked.

There is no sense to blocking Lexus. T is a fucking Toyota.

It's a shame, but the Nats has long been a Toyota powered by Toyota event.

Even I needed to show a Toyota build plate to be eligible.

I can't understand why they'd block a Lexus from competing. I can understand why a non Toyota powered car wouldn't be allowed to collect points but allowing them to enter all events should still be cool.

In the past, a lot of odd cars have had a go in the Motorsport events. I think next year being the 40th anniversary they are reserving the spots for 100% Toyota vehicles first.

I won't be at Cooma or tenors to race. Come say g'day though I'll most likely be on the runway with the camera (make $ rather than spend $)

Stew, you might want to rethink what you say in future. You are stirring a pot with misinformation and misguided knowledge. It is borderline trolling.

Here is what Dave the event organisier has replied with.

"Hi Nick. Don’t worry , Lexus is Toyota so no problem there! If you can you please let me know where you heard that rubbish ? because there is no way that a Lexus would be excluded from any Toyota Nationals event. Regards, Dave McNeill. Event Co-ordinator."

He did say 'non Toyota powered" to be fair. Which still leaves me in the same camp....

    yes Nick i did check...
i am not a stirrer, or a troll.
i spoke to the other organiser minutes before i posted to double check. I know dave well. i thought it had been mentioned that due to the expected numbers it was likely there would be no exotic entrants for this year.

before i posted that i double checked and that was the repsonse i got. I have entered my lexus before as well, but has always been toyota powered toyotas (including lexus) - but has in the past allowed a few non complying cars to fill in numbers.

I personally would love to see this car there, but didn't want someone to plan their time around an event that they may be denied entry - was not meant to be stirring bahaimus for my own amusement.

I'll get a hold of Dave now, and tell him it was me, and check if you had ya facts right.

    sorry for the troll....

Stew, sorry for sounding like a angry old cunt. Too much sifting through bullshit forsale groups on facebook at the time.

I mistook it to mean ALL non Toyotas including Lexus. Given that this is Matts thread and he has said he had issues in the past.

As you might understand, convincing the wife and kids to come to the middle of nowhere and a 8 hour drive for a one make car event during easter is not a easy sell. Having a few people say that we might not even be allowed to enter this year is a bit of a hit.

So sorry for mistaking your post as a troll. As for IS620, im sure the event guys can see the sprit of Toyota still within it. Hell, still has the factory ecu.

And back to Matt's rolling pantshitter.

Sorry, didnt see your question dude. I think it ran 7.50

I was pretty unhappy as we just couldn't get the power down and last minute problems meant we had to go with 4 year old drag radials rather than the slicks I bought for it.

I've been getting ready for SM1000, and in the process installed some CF wank that will probably mean ill never get a sleeper award again ...

I did this kind of event 5 years ago (6?) and went pretty well. Finished top 10 with a trap speed of 263kph and ET of 22.07s for the km.

Last time the car was pretty unstable, scary even above 250kph. So we knew we wanted to do something about the aero and after hunting around I settled on a seibon carbon front lip. THe body kit choices for these things are truly horrendous. This was the best of a bad lot, lowering the front edge of the car by 65mm and not looking too offensive.

and coupled this with as much of an under tray as we had aluminium for...

All things considered, ill be happy if it runs over 270 and 20 seconds.

They came from eBay I think. Necessary back in the days when I'd drive it to events with all tools and tyres on the back seat.
