I've got a twin locked 88 Classic with a bent chassis and a series 3 in bits that a mate and I went halves in about 5 years ago.

Plan is to mate the two together on a disco chassis that was donated to us and build a 100 inch coil sprung series three.

Have had 2 disco's, a tdi300 87 RR classic, a 83 2 door RR, 84 Hiline with the 727 torqueflite and a 86 classic. They are all long gone now though.

*high fives* to all my rover buddies.

I really want to do a series 2 109 or series 3 88 on a classic rangie chassis.

Yeh that's pretty cool, I wouldn't mind an early girl myself one day. Something about them, so agricultural and just to the point. Made for a purpose and that's all.

Did have a D1 300tdi that copped a chassis rebuild and new head etc. Sold that to get my d40, Wouldn't mind a refreshed RR classic like a hiline or something (early 90s) but I definitely dont need another car. British cars are very much an illness.

My cousin is building a bitsa RR. I think its a late 80s 4dr body on a 70s chassis. This is to get around the rego laws in Holland. If your chassis is older than a certain date, you pay no rego.

Nice, we have what I believe is a 1952 series 1 sitting in the shed from when we sold the farm. She's a bit beaten and hasn't been started in 8 years but it will live again someday. I learnt to drive in it with no brakes so have some fond memories.

Ha yeah unlikely, dad seems to have intentions of restoring it and my brother seems pretty keen on it. If the '52 swb ones are 80" then that's what it is.

most of them were. If the headlight is still behind the grill then it is. If so, keep it if you want to do something with it. If not I'm always a PM away lol

    Awesome.

I have an 82 Classic 2 door 4 speed manual that will be resurrected one day soon. Apparently the last of the 2 doors to roll off the production line, but I've never bothered to authenticate that.

I'll take some pics next time I'm at my parents place where it is hiding in the back shed.

I know, its practically a family heirloom. Has been in the family since the mid 80's and was the car I learnt to drive in, such a lovely noise it made.

Motor is tired and the gearbox had a mega dollar rebuild that was shit so is hard to shift out of first. Just got parked and forgotten about. I want to do an engine/box swap and set it up for touring and camping in future.

I cured myself of the Rover disease after building a shorty from the concrete up, found a chassis and started from there. Then we put a P76 motor in a 2A forward control and thankfully someone bought it and took it to Queensland. We must have blown up at least four gearboxes and three overdrives in that thing.
