Went to the olds today and snapped a few pics of the 2 door classic. It looks grotty in the pics but it's actually really clean, just needs a solid weekend of loving to tidy everything up. Literally parked in the back shed after dad stopped using it, still has plumbing gear in the back, work diary and all.

It had a big dollar engine and box rebuild a fee years before it was pulled off the road as well as a fresh respray. Wouldn't take much to be a nice driver.

    One day.

also was wondering what was making noise underneath. my tail shaft was almost falling off. could have been a disaster as I drove it to work on a highway going about 100k's lol

Few small differences (ie bonnets and interiors) but essentially the same

no dont have headlight guards yet. I do have a twin roaming around it appears. lol.

apart from engine and drivelines theres minor differences. left one being the newer one which has the bulge on the bonnet and the lack of opening vents. otherwise mainly the same.

also the newer one has steel skin doors.

is that like a cit 2200 or id19 lol I'd love one. Had a cx2200 which tried to burn me once.

I'll take some pics next time I'm at my parents place where it is hiding in the back shed.
2 door ran thru to 1985.

Interesting. Wiki says the 2 door was discontinued in the UK in 1984 but the French market had them produced until the end of the model run.

Equally as interesting, the Aussie CKD kits were discontinued in early 1983 so technically we're probably both right as ours is an Aussie built model.

I think they built (I use the term lightly) 2 doors as special order for the Old Bill for a cple of years past the end civilian sales.

Nice choice. What size are they? They look huge in those guards.

I do hate the white wiring though.

They are 255/85/16. Didnt want to go wider than that.

I've seen the thread on the disco 3 cluster. Seems plausible but I've not seen a working one yet!!! lol

and yeah, I think the white writing will grow old. When rotation time comes I'll probably spin them around
