    2002 RM250x project.

I wont go into details unless you guys want (build thread over at dirtbikeworld.net)

Basically I combined a 2002 RM250 frame with a 1998 RMX250 ADR frame, 18" rear wheel, ktm lights etc etc etc

Still a couple of minor things to sort

    Bike has full QLD rego.

Everything is RM250 except for part of the frame. Pretty much everything was replaced/rebuilt/modified/painted/anodised/powdercoated

did you just throw dot legal tyres on it for the rego and swap back or are those legal tyres on it in the picture, they look a fuck load more agressive than poxy d606s

Thanks lads. I wanted something unique.
Pretty stoked how it came out.

Sprucebruce, read closer, it's 99% RM250. All mx tyres are legal on the road in OZ, the "Not for Highway use" is an American standard. Most bike shops don't know this though.

Matty12, what wide ratio box? I don't think I will really need one, the mx box will be fine for the bush. Intended us is for enduro, hence the 18" rear rim, flywheel weight porting etc.

Doesn't the rmx have wide box or is it a different fifth gear, I know I could never top out in fifth. Never the less, excellent build.

Just curious what the build cost was like in comparison to some of the newer bikes?

What are the standard for your tires? I have a Not for Highway Use tire here with "64M". Google says 64 is a load rating and M is 80mph (130kph). Not sure if it's suitable though for a 98 KTM.

No. Driving an esky along the footpath will be the end humanity. This must be stopped.

    Does look cool.

Don't be so sure on the "not for highway use" tyres in Australia, each state might be a bit different.
At least in SA, anything marked as such is specifically not allowed.

It's been debated plenty of times before, outcome is never clear. I always just put on non NFHU tyres as one less thing to get defected for.

    http://www.motorcycleroadworthys.com...adworthys.html

    NOTES:

[1] Steel radials, textile radials or conventional crossply must not be mixed.

[2] A tyre fitted to a motorcycle, including motor tricycle(s), must, when first manufactured, have been rated by the tyre manufacturer as suitable for road use at the lower of:

    [a] a speed of at least 120 km/h; and

    [b] the vehicle's top speed.

[3] Tyres branded "Not Suitable for Highway Use" (NHU) are not to be rejected solely for this reason.
    So I think I'm OK because it's >120km/h

    EDIT: OK in QLD anyways

TBH it would owe me 7k not including the original cost of the bike which I've had since 08. I wouldn't say I went all out but certainly didn't do it on the cheap.
Suspension, engine and wheels were the big ticket items adding up to 5k

Very nice. What rear guard extension is that? Lighting coil upgrade or battery? I've been seriously thinking of doing my CR, ICV though.

I have this now so it will spend a lot of time on the ground partially trapping a fat but keen and happy middle aged dickhead. Handles great and goes same but can't find starter button.
