    fj45 parts car

    sup all,

so i purchased a parts car for my shorty 40 V12 TT build,

its a 1971 FJ45, its been sitting in a paddock for some time by the looks of it. my mate got it cheap, and i got it off him equally cheap.....

Before i picked it up i got it running (rough), by putting new plugs in, cleaning the points and pouring fuel into the carby from a bear bottle, so thought fuck it lets get her with rego for the time being till i get the shorty finished.

put new brakes under it, a carby kit in it, then a mate said why done we paint it.....

so it went from this 8am sat

    to this sat arvo

    to this on sunday morning

this weekend we did the chassis clean up (some small rust repairs) and a coat of the POR15 uv stable stuff.

now with the chassis sorted and all the spare 40series bits i had in the shed she looks like.....

should have the tray on it and exhaust done, then number plates in the next couple weeks....

its amazing how simple these things are, only clips holding the roof and the back on, no retracting seat belts, about 3 wires in the whole car....

Genuine Toyota ?Man,that is probably quite rare, and worth money to an afficianado; may be a fucking slim market though!Solid effort all round .

Yep I've got front and rear versions from my shorty, my grand parents got it new in 1978. The rear one has a ladder to get up to the roof racks.

It's possible it is like a dealer delivered arb bar from the day?? Either way it was dealer fitted...

Very cool ; especially since its a parts car!Dunno if you fitted ,or they were there-those taillights were fitted to cab chassis (Hilux and Cruiser) from factory for fucking yonks (at least 04, I think)...

After watching Roothy's Milo2 build, and the GZ40 build here, I want one as well.
