Nitto Invo 275s.. i ran 25psi tyre pressure which i think may be too low, as i could feel some sway in 3rd and 4th

I have previously done 135-136mph on shitter tyres and less power, so i think its a combo of a few things.. but its ok, at least ive got an acceptable result and i can happily work it out from here

Car performed fucking awesome, ive got Gopro footage that i'll upload this week

I had a great time absolutely walking away from some fairly stout cars on day 1

I did 272kph and 273kph 800m runs, which were at 18.6 and 19.0secs.. i did another run with similar ET but only did a 264kph, i checked the logs and mustve been getting excited cos i was shifting at 7600-7900rpm for some reason

I had another very quick run going against the Motul 34R, i had the GPS boost map setup great for the surface, but unfortuntely popped a cooler pipe clamp off in 4th.. i mustve been quite a bit ahead of him cos it was seconds before he came past

Half way through yesterday my fucking immobilizer which was spliced into another immobilizer quit on me, so the Galvsport lads hacked it out and wired around it

The fault did something weird to the battery and rapidly discharged it.. i recovered it with the charger but it was too late in the day to continue, i was happy to drive it back to base with it working 100%

We were staying about 25mins out of Albany was awesome for me, because theres a 15min winding road towards the house.. the neighbour 100% didnt like me starting the car up at 6.30am each day.. he just stood at the front door as i left

Got good footage of Bristows HKS car pulling on me from a launch, he has a tiny bit more power than me but with a Hollinger box.. was still a closer race than i thought it would be

    Cool!

You might want to get in touch with the organisers because the published outright list of results has you way down the bottom

Speaking of box's I have a 33 GTR with about the same power as yours OS gear set aswell soon to be more power . If you were going to invest into a sequential which would it be ?.

Ive got no experience with any of them because of my peasant status.. how much power are you chasing and will you be using a 3+L setup?

Id look at the PPG sequential first, it fits inside the factory housing so you arent cutting the tunnel up / fabbing crossmembers or needing new drift shafts and shit.. theres a few 1200whp cars using them from what the internet has shown me

I think the PPG comes with the load cell shifter included, and the others are a seperate purchase

I can say the one 32 shell i saw with an Albins in it had a very substantial hole cut in the tunnel.. the shifting mechanism is massive (looks cool as fuck though)

Holinger is a proven performer, but not 100% sure about tunnel clearance

OS88 is cheaper than the rest (not by much) but i think they may have a slightly lower power threshold, and im not sure about availability of parts for them.. pretty sure they come with the load cell shifter.. id also be looking into clutch choices for this, or if you need an OS Giken one

Its a dirty 30 bottem end with nitto bits and bobs . Currently at 550kw atw but putting another 100kw into it soon .

Thing is everyone says it's just a gearset but realistically if we brake it still not a cheap exercise to rebuild would be close to 10k to do it all over again . My thinking being atleast at the moment I could get half decent coin for current box to go towards sequential hotness.

Everyone seems to be happy with the ppg from what I hear ?. Your right about fitment of the ppg certainly a bonus .

I wouldnt get my hopes up for the 2nd hand value of an OS Giken gearset box.. id say 4k is fair if its newish with no crunches

Ive heard a few internet murmurs about the PPG seq getting "revisions" under warranty shortly after they were released, but from the sounds of it, theyve ironed out the bugs

Theyre definitely being raced and abused in cars making beyond 1000-1200whp

I asked about your capacity as ive heard far more internet murmurs about the OS88's not being as reliable with the larger motors.. i wonder if its because Australia is really pushing power / torque and capacity beyond what the Japs are

If youre gonna do a couple thousand street kms a year, id be finding out about lifespans of internal parts for the different boxes.. it wont be an "install and forget about it for 50thou km" type experience
