What are you like at designing and building gear/belt/chain drives to handle 1150hp?

Dunno why more don't do their manifolds like this? This design will out spool and out flow all those equal length, fancy merge collector efforts.

if you had a big enough market I reckon the pipe work could be CNC bent and then cut on a tube laser.

Not viable though across multiple vehicles.

some of the jap ones, hks 2jz for example, would be cnc lasered for the quantity they made of them.
hand cutting them would take forever.

Have you tried talking to Albins?
"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

By that logic all mani's shoud be log. It's not that much harder (the fancy merge collectors are no easier) and the gains in spool are worth it. For street cars the shorter the pipes the better, this is by far the most important area to focus on and this style delivers.

Yeah nah merging elbows into a collector is much harder than merging straight pipe. I can knock out a 6in1 collector welded to flange in about 2 hours. The difficulty comes in transferring any sort of pattern onto the elbow and also holding it in a vice or saw/mill. Pete just makes that look easy.

Fair enough and not suggesting Pete's skillz aren't epic.... But quite a few other top shelf fabricators out there that should be doing this as the gains are worth the effort.

    farkin hell, all blinged out.
tim that manifold with the matching 2 inch exhaust was $1300. the guy supplied all the materials though and i recycled all the parts from the old manifold he gave me, bends and flanges etc.

Fucking hell that KE55 header is fucking sexual. Your work is awesome mate. I should pay you to teach me to weld instead of TAFE etc. like I've been pondering
