do you have a rough estimate of your costs?
Thanks, I think it will owe me about $3500 all up once painted. That's with electric brakes on a single axle and brand new wheels and tyres.

Mr mud guard do them. The rolled edge makes them really strong compared to the usual folded ones.

Had a run up at Collingrove hillclimb over the weekend for the SA hillclimb championships, was good fun and a different challenge from circuit racing having never been there before.
Safe to say that a Mallala suspension setup is less than ideal for the goat track that is collingrove, so most of the time was spent trying to keep the thing pointing in the right direction.

Managed to get down to a 33.44 during the event, which was slightly frustrating because I went faster during the practice session on the Friday. Need more sunshine or some of those sticky avons that the fast guys have.
Ended up winning my class and was just pipped by less than a tenth of a second for the fastest tin top so pretty happy with that.

Here's my incar from the shootout, almost managed to wipe out the timing markers over the finish line, but luckily just missed

Competed in the Willunga Hillclimb over the weekend.
Was hoping to back up my result of 3rd from last year, but found myself leading after the 1st timed run and just managed to hang on for the event win from Nick Strekeisen charging home pretty hard in his R35.
Got a matching novelty sized trophy to go with the one I got last year, so I've pretty much got the full set of cricket stumps now.

Here's the incar from my quickest run of the day which was about a half a second improvement over last year.

Time to make the most of the new IP restrictor sizes... Cue the borg warner and new manifold:

Hopefully get it on the dyno next week to see what the results are.

So you're retaining the internal gate?

Yeah Still using the internal gate, lighter and a lot less complicated to plumb in. Pretty much all of the current IP cars using borgy turbos are using the internal gate versions I think.

Interdasting! I imagine a lot of the IPRA boys are using highish boost with that restrictor. Do the Borgies have decent boost control with that internal gate?

Yeah they seem to be fairly good at keeping it under control, it's pretty large compared to a garrett in a similar size.

Manifold all finished and ready to go into the car!

Just about finished under the bonnet, cooler pipes need welding up for good and that blue silicone joiner needs to be changed to a black one but otherwise it's pretty good to go!

Wheeled the car outside and got under it with the pressure cleaner to give it the annual 'proper' cleanup

Painting the underside was worth the effort when it cleans up like this

Pretty excited to hear what the new all Ti exhaust will sound like

Few things to finish off then it's dyno time on thursday

Lovely. How much weight saved with the exhaust?

Thanks lads... I'm not sure exactly how much lighter the exaust would be, it already had the rear section done, but I'd guess around 10kg from what was on there.
From where it was at Clipsal last year the car's 15-20kg down on that which is probably a combination of a few different tweeks.
It's actually now come in under weight for using a 38mm restrictor, so I'll probably have to run a little bit of something in it to bring it back up to where it needs to be.

Couldn't get it finished because they sent me the wrong wastegate actuator and we couldn't make enough boost... hopefully have it back on the dyno friday, but looking promising so far.
It's definitely going to have a much more usable rev range regardless of the power figure.

I would put a heavy exhaust on it. No italics.

Exhaust is the lowest fully sprung part of the car.

It's only a kilo or two under what it needs to be, I'll probably just run an extra 5 litres of fuel over what I need to make sure it comes in over the limit.
