Aren't they knocking these on the head in '17?

Still time for a partial facelift.

Ever thought that it may have been planned, approved and necessary contractual stuff signed before the decision to shut up shop was made?

Plan is to still go up to the end of 17. Face lift required to keep it looking fresh and to do its' best to keep a presence in the large car market until Holden can have the replacement ready.

Highly recommend anyone who is considering to get one take a series2 redline for a spin, very quick and capable bit of gear.

They're still selling plenty overseas, especially the U.S. basically taking an SS and chucking a chev badge on it. So the facelift would be more than necessary to keep interest and sales up over there.

Eh, outlasted the rover/bl communist clusterfuckery, actually a decent car in its last iteration and I'd still take any old folden (bar sunstar shite) with something decent up front over afore mentioned agglomerations of rust and engineering designed to destroy itself and driver enjoyment.

This is kinda untrue ... they may be selling every one they ship to the USA, but they're sending SFA cars over there, and refusing to do deals on them etc. It's not about the volume or selling cars in the USA; NFI what it's about, really.

No, won't be confirmed 'til 10:30am tomorrow ... however, I've read it's an L99 & not an LS3 ... don't really know what th differences are, they seem to be available in similar power outputs for the same 6.2L capacity, but the L99 has the DoD gear & my guess is the LS3 has tougher innards (ie. better for modding).

Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

    It's basically an ls3 but...

    1. VVT
    2. AFM
    3. 10.4:1 Compression ratio
    4. lower lift cam
    5. Lower rev limit. 300rpm.

It's a tune away from been parity or more grunt so it's a minor thing. The AFM hardware is gay though and is prone to failure like the l76's and l77's.

Still find it unbelievable people are not proud of what Holden have done with the ve and particular the vf. It's a world class car on a goon sack budget. Who else does rwd manual v8'd anymore ffs.

So not LT motor like the US Camaro/Pickups? Maybe flappy paddles? Sad.

The VE was a awesome bit of kit but the interior was two generations old VW. That caught them out.

I just hope they make the thing look nice at the front for buyers who are actually intending to buy it. Lots of cashed up youngesters at the drags wouldn't have the VF "'cos it looks like a Mazda." I thought apart from the LED afterthoughts and Jag vent, it looked OK.

Heres hoping they sell a few. IMHO - In years to come I think the blown HSV will be a keeper like a VN SS Group A.
