Vid below. Important to get to the bottom of this as they are both dedicated drag cars.

Interesting that they were so close, and that they didn't use a DSG Golf - which might have tipped the balance.
Lots of minis & mokes including a G13b powered Sports Sedan, a couple of Swift Gtis, a Goggomobil, Porsche 928S, Polo Gti, BMW 540i, a WRX and a few others.

Yea that shows pretty clearly the disparity to a DSG in an AWD car with (i presume) a launch control that is numpty-proof.. versus something you gotta drive yourself like an adult

Monday: Walk into shop and book in Dyno for Saturday "Yep, no problem will call and confirm during the week"
Thursday: Call the shop, no one answers, leave a message
Friday: Call the shop, confirm for Saturday "We've had a big job come in that will take most of Saturday morning, can you leave the car the whole day", arrange for them to call 30 mins before the expect to need it.
Saturday: No ones at the shop...

Anyway, drove across the weigh bridge and the 1575kg kerb weight is spot on. With a full tank and me in the car it was 1650kg and i am 75kg.

The Focus Sport is 1380 kg so seems like the RS has 195kg of extra shit - i guess thats what happens when the car isnt designed from the ground up to be AWD.

    Okay,

Got a call at 5:30pm that the dyno was ready, unexpected but cool.

Red line was in AWD mode but as you can see it didn't really like it, so did the FWD mode trick and and the last two runs were pretty consistent.

Im surprised at how much boost it runs standard, but it would be soooo much better if it just was all in instead of rising over the RPM range.

Really? I hate that feeling especially with small turbos OEMs like, diesel choked motor-esque and lacks linearity.
I'm far less than an amateur at tuning but I think if you go easy on the mid range, you can squeeze a bit more topend. Cyl temps, EGTs, IATs being lower should afford you that. Probably doesn't make much difference after consistent pulls.

mid range is where you drive these cars, a 50hp top end increase, is about a 100hp mid range increase.

Looks like dealers in Perth are finally dropping prices. 53.5k will get you a fully optioned blue one, dealer kms. 51.5k will get you a fully optioned, 401km used one.
Plenty at 51k with the standard rims... or if you want to burn money, 60+ for a Limited Edition.

Access port tunes (customised reflashes) are going to 265 on dynos where they read about 220 stock. Not bad.

I've got a MK6 Golf R with a tune, ran a 13.3 1/4. I'll likely buy a new MK7.5 Golf R next, or a C63 is a property deal comes off. As someone said previously, Golf R drivers and RS drivers probably aren't cross shopping. I wouldn't look at the RS, noting wrong with them, just not my thing.

It's at least 100kg lighter though, and has 500Nm. Drag calculators are probably also usually assume a live axle RWD barge, which the 140i is a lot closer to than the Focus.

TlDr - my car is hypothetically quicker than yours.
M140i probably isn't 100kgs lighter. That's with a full tank, no driver, alcantara interior and lighter wheels.
I haven't taken mine down the quarter but I got a 4.7 second 0-100kmh with a fairly soft launch (manual), a high 12 feels about right.

Jalopnik reported Ford in the US are gearing up to fix the head gasket issue:

"Based on this description it seems that, if a customer brings in their Focus RS built between Aug. 3, 2015 and July 6, 2017, they will definitely have their head gasket replaced for free."

    Did they cover it up?
    or
Did they invest time and money to research the issue before going to public... like the way it should be done?

Not so much, but the phrase has thankfully been getting some bad press of late.
    eg: this AFR article

This would surely sound better: "Ford Australia has confirmed it will contact owners of the Focus RS...

Mine is showing up on ETIS as needing the replacement, happy that its getting fixed, not so happy that the motor will get cracked open by a dealer mechanic.
