No pics DJ as car is at the exhaust shop....it wasn't loud enough last SM1000 so straight pipe should sort that issue out

Problem with the SC is I can't get the IC under the thing it desperately needs to make big power...just no room Water/meth will get me thru the SM1000 but still not ideal and not a viable long term option.

The big single will go on and make 4 figures so just have to be happy with that drive ability should be decent. Bulk capacity does seem to make this stuff easier

    Progress.

SC back on with the smaller pulley for more boost....old 3.75 inch = 4.5psi for 320rwkw (85 deg IAT )
    New 3.0 inch = 12psi expected for ???

But, I wasn't happy with the amount of pulley wrap....Grrr.

So, whipped up this bracket today to get an extra idler pulley I had lying around in there. Not exactly RZ level fabrication but not bad for a drill press and hacksaw

Not something I'd run long term but should hopefully get me through the tune and SM1000

    Tune is booked

Beforehand I need to get water/meth setup sorted. I have bench tested and happy enough so just a matter of mounting and wiring in the engine bay....this weekend with luck

Took it for a spin round the block just to check it's broadly OK for this Thursday's tune. Running meth injection and safe to say the intake temp reduction has livened this up plenty!! I only nudged a little over 6 psi and fair near snapped my neck the power delivery is that instant and brutal...can't wait to see what a fully tuned 1-12psi is gong to deliver

Straight exhaust too and weirdly sounds quieter and smoother than with the spintech muffler on?

At least you're finding this out now. The way I'm going I'll be on the dyno the day before sm1000 again.

Too much preload...it wont take more than 1/2 turn before it's causing valve seal issues? Must be something to do with the valve they set up the lifter perhaps? A few folk have looked at it and said 3/4 turn up to 1.5 turns is fine but not on this engine?

space the rockers back to give that preload and runs sweet...anyways, spilt milk so I've just ordered the adjustable rockers (that VPW should have sent me the first time but fucked up the order) and that should fix it.

GSR - yeah it does, cause she don't fire so good and raw fuel into the exhaust get it up on boost and it's fine as you get cylinder pressures anyways I guess

Frustrating to throw effort at something that was working (albeit a bit bodged) and go backwards

What lifters does it have in it ? You can get short travel lifters for them they don't take much preload

Lunati but I don't know the specs. As long as the rocker sweep on the valve tip stays reasonable the roller rockers should get me out of trouble.....he says confidentally

Yeah that's odd. They barely had more than half a turn from memory. Like maybe 5/8? With the shims in it was pretty much zero preload which I wasn't keen on and when you said you weren't going past 6500 I figured a bit of preload would be fine to keep it quiet. They must be some kind of short travel thing to be hanging the valves open like that. Shit deal to have to have it apart again.

For the record there's nothing dodgy about shimming rockers. As you said as long as the rocker geometry is good on the valve tip it's fine.

Finally some joy....new valves, springs, retainers etc and more money than I care to think about tipped into it....but, decent numbers.

    This on 8.5 psi

A nice faaat power curve and a hoot to drive. 3.9:1 diff is stupid so any decent throttle just dissolves the tyres. I have a 3.5 but don't have time to get it in before Cooma as needs mods....lots of peddling I guess
