    80 V3 Albino Baboon

Well, didnt take me long before having withdrawls after selling my 80.

Made a trek yesterday to a town called Barooga. About 1.5 hours from Albury.

Was alone, so had to fly to albury then bus to Barooga.

She's a 1997 Multivalve GXL! That Diesel torque!!! She sat on 110km the whole way home without once downshifting to 4th. I was expecting it to do more kms on the one tank, but only got 600km..not sure if thats good or not..but I was expecting 700, considering its on road tyres and no bar work. She only has 418k kms..but the thing is squeaky clean...no rattles no strange noises, just purred blissfully!!!!

    Specs:
    1997 GXL 1HDFT
    GT Turbo
    3" Red Back Exhaust
    Front Mount

2" Old Man Emu Lift (Feels awesome too!)

Old mate did a simpson trip last year (6000kms) and before that put a new clutch in, replaced all hoses belts (Timing belt too) so its very well maintained.
    Front and Rear ARB Lockers

    Engine driven Air Compressor

Little outlet I can plug in an airline with

    Loving it so far!!

Gturbo, special highflow ct26, depending on model will do 25psi by 1600rpm and hold 35psi+ to redline

If he put the turbo on it withut playing with fuel, it shouldnt change the economy.

at those kms, it might be due for an injector/pump reco, maybe even both.

apart from that, looks pretty clean for something thats been used as a real 4x4

Well doing some research, at 110km they will suck the juice, but at 90km it should do well over 700km...crazy..

Here are some pics from the PO
    I love this mod:
Its like a wtaer bladder inside the rear quarter, so washing hands/feet after the beach/mud etc.

    Cape york Trip
9300kms north and back and then a little 900km run down to Phillip Island and back for a few days.
The cruiser never missed a beat for the whole trip and hardly noticed that it had a trailer on behind.

    Front mount "bro"

I don't think he could have hit Nolan's Brooke any harder. Should make a good 4wd with a few mods.

Going from 90 to 110 doesn't turn it from a Prius to a prime mover in the economy stakes... it increase as you would expect.
When the low fuel light comes on, you should get 80-120km until it starts to chug as well.
Generally fill the 90L tank at 75L which is when the light comes on in mine.

You might want to fix up that dodgy piping for the on-board air. Pumping hot engine gases directly in to the compressor, to pressurise it and put it in to your tyres / diff locks is not the smartest idea in the world.

Is that the crankcase breather connected to teh pump?

You can just fit 2.5 inch piping under the battery's though the radiator support to get rid of some excess bends how ever your stuck with the plenum and entry to it.

    Already started spending.

Ordered a new Ironman Deluxe Bullbar (Cant justify spending almost 2k for an ARB) and didnt want a used one.
Ordered some updated rear tail lights
    Ordered some weather shield strips

There also seems to be a bit of a miss at around 1850 rpm, not sure if this is normal or not but no big issue. Id love to get it on a Dyno and check everything is ok and get a tune.

ARB Deluxe are like $1300 or so I think.

Not a huge fan of using AC compressors to pump air, hows the lubrication setup?
I think the 'thing' to do for the Sanden jobbies was to fill them with grease or run an inline oiler - maybe thats why its on the PCV?

Leave it connected to the PCV, there is only one reason why its plumbed in there.

Love it man, i been driving it every day. I havent had time to work on it due to work, but soon will be going on Paternity leave and will transform this

Yep, its different to drive, 1st 2nd and 3rd feel like nothing but 4th and 5th just pull. 5th Gear is awesome, I get into 5th at 40km and thats it just pulls hard at any speed.

If 1,2&3 feel lacklustre she needs a tune!

Mine squats the bum and lifts the front in all gears...

I've tweaked my tune a little recently, and it'll boost 26psi by 1.9-2k rpm with 21:1 AFRs...
