All good, coming from a 1fz it would be hard not to be impressed by the fuel economy.

I don't stress about the fuel economy to be honest: it's reasonably good for what it is, which is a 23 year old 2.5t brick driving all four wheels and governed by mechanical fuel injection. If I wanted an economical car I'd by a Prius lol, but I thoroughly enjoy driving the old bus. She's got so much character ( some may call that rattles and clunks but whatever
!) and is so fun to drive. It makes all these great whistles and growls and just gets you where you wanna go, and I get to feel like I'm a little bit better than the other peasants lol

^^ This is true lol, I did DL the App, so lets see how it goes.

Just ordered some Bullseye Brackets that will suit a 50" Curved light bar.

Any recommendations on what bar I can get??

Im not sure if it needs to be curved or not.

So the 80 ran out of rego (Bit poor atm)_ so today, took the family wagon through some mud lol....what a laugh..the "lock" button and Traction control does nothing...nice circle work tho!

Depends what you want from the bar. But if you want light spread then you want a curved bar. If you just want intensity in front of you a straight bar will be fine.

Yeha, Might get the Curve then! Spread is good when wheeling at night!

Ok lads, Im gonna need some help...want to fit out the 80 for some touring.

First on the list i s a winch.
I have some roof racks..(Not mounted) but can i run an awning or even those rack mounted tents off it? Like this...not to sleep in..mainly just when at the beach, the baby can go in there with no wind etc

I will look into a fridge too...never had one...do I need drawers to mount it on?

My 80 already has the fitting for the fridge (Anderson I think?)

Why do you want a winch?
I've a Warn XD9000 with an upgraded motor, and it has literally done more work at home with moving shit around my yard, than it has done recovering my cruiser. (It's much easier to drag a 100kg railway sleeper than it is to pick it up )

They are awesome when you need them, but a $500 winch is not going to last sitting being unused, nor will a 3k one for that matter.

Just food for thought on prioritizing your spends.

You don't need draws for the frige, but you will need a slide, and slides tend to be expensive..
I would go for a set of these titan draws http://www.store.powerful4x4.com.au/...r-drawer-dual/
Yes they're cheap and cheerful, but they have a fridge slide built in, and you're not spending $1500+ on them.. So long as they slide nice and don't rattle then win win?
    Waeco CF50 or similar
Dual battery with a couple of sockets on a switch panel on the rear of the draws.
Foxwing awning could be a handy option?

For the fridge, if you only have one kid? then remove one rear seat, build a false floor and hard mount the fridge there. Easy access, no need for the slide (server rails are cheap and will support the weight) and leaves the cargo area for all your holiday shit.

Awnings are for pussy's, you are out in the wild for a reason

Fridges are unreal, you'll never look back and they usually last many many years so money well spent.
I have draws in the back and just use the slide on top for the fridge as suggested. Left draw for food, right draw for cooking equipment and odds and ends like hand wash, mossy spray and rubber bands. There's usually compartments down either side of the draws for spare parts, hoses, belts and tools as well.
They are very handy but a compromise because you can't fit as much in the back anymore due to the raised height and cargo barrier.

Awesome, im still up in the air with drawers, as I still want the 3rd row sometimes. If I can get a fridge, that I can take out from time to time, that would be awesome

Waeco or Engel fridge is the go IMO. Really handy. You'll find yourself plugging it into 240v in the garage to hide beers and chocolates etc. Chances are you're missus will fill the fridge with bags of salad when you go away and you'll still need an esky for booze and ice. Mine does anyway so keep this in mind when choosing litre'age.

My current rig has the drawers that came with it. I don't really like them because they take up a fair bit of space and the nooks down the sides are really difficult to get into especially in a hurry. On the flip side the space you do have is more readily accessible. If i were commissioning a set myself i'd look at doing 1 drawer down 1 side with fridge slide on-top such that you could still have half a 3rd row or use the other half for mountain bike and other bulkier stuff like when you want to move a wheelbarrow (has been an issue for me more than I thought it would be).

No. Driving an esky along the footpath will be the end humanity. This must be stopped.

Headed to Meryla State Forrest this morning with my Boss who picked up a new Triton last week and a mate in his stock Hilux.

For me it was a walk in the park as I considered their stock height/no bar work and HT tyres (Hilux had AT)

Trition comes with factory rear locker, did pretty well!

I discovered all this time, I have been wriong in using tie down points as the baby seat harness point!!! I saw an old thread about it on the LC forum about it! Sorted it out straight away!

Also discovered I can easily unlip the 3rd row seats! This robs space when im hauling wheels, parts or camping trips!

So, preparing for a trip to North Strabroke Island next month, Will be adding some upgrades for the trip.

About to buy a an I-Max Ebay winch (Had one on my old one with no dramas!)

Just got the VMS 700HDX GPS

Also got this tyre deflator. It screws onto the valve, rather then taking the valve out potentially damaging it.

Picked up the Waeco CFX-35 yesterday, should be plenty for our needs

    Also, bought an Awning
