I looked over the entry/invite for the Historics in early April and it mentioned noise restrictions.
It will be a shit-fight that weekend!

Mate was there on Friday got pinged at 98 going up the hill. Was told to "back off" today up the hill and fix it for next time.

I would have replied next time I'll be at Eastern Creek you fuckers.

Was a nice change to Wakefield's Lap records on Sunday. FWD Vtec lowered the Time Attack Lap record quite substantially with a 57.8 in less than ideal conditions.

That's stonking time! Besides the track being a little nicer in some spots than a few years back, it's a killer time and congrats to Benny. Damn those little motors hate to rev. Wonder what it weighs? Car picks up speed impressively. Great job by them.

Well he's been pretty busy driving nonetheless. Vic T.A. , Wakey T.A. , Bathurst Hillclimb, door to door stuff. Nothing like seat time.

Not sure if it's in this thread.

But we got told at a drivers briefing over the weekend that, when we get to Wakefield it'll be "90db limit for speed off the street type days", and "93Ddb for race days". And there is supposedly a camera/sensor/mic after turn two (right on where you're powering up the hill), and this setup will detect cars over the limit, and automatically send an email to Wakefield management AND the EPA!

    WTF!

Andy they had imposed a 90db limit a while back but they removed this at the start of the year.

    So have they re-introduced it?
What is the point of emailing the EPA? Are we going to start getting fined?

Also as of April I think it was, the Test and Tune (racecars) and Speed off the Streets (street cars) are now combined again.

As far as I can see on their calendar this is still the case.

Personally I would like to see the main straight extended another 500-700m or so, without the kink at turn 1, or move turn one 500-700m further along. Not that my opinion counts for shit...

More than anything I hope they get some facilities for spectators. It's a cool track, but even when there's decent racing to see there I'll be fucked if I want to drive there to spend a day standing on the shitty dirt Hill down at turn one, get lunch at the crappy Cafe and use their crappy toilets. Make the place pleasant to visit and you might get bigger events with more spectators

They already get okay events... On several occasions I've thought about going down for the saloon cars or similar... then not gone because of how shitty the spectator spots are...

as above, upgrades are pointless without a resolution to the noise issue. it's a fucking joke
