Mr Bugle...... I used to own an SB Barina GSI in the early 2000's that we used for recce in the Australian Rally Championship. I've long since sold the car BUT I still have a set of Murray Coote Proflex suspension from it. They've been sitting in my garage for a long time so they may need some attention but if you want them then they're yours. All you need to do is pay for the freight or arrange for it be transported to you. They are in Camp Hill, Brisbane. PM me if you're interested!

Yeah I could try that. Hadn't considered it before.
I'll probably end up with another engine and building it for more boost eventually..

Yeah it has been going alright, just a couple of problems with the cooling system. First the heater tap started leaking so changed that. Then this other hose on the firewall side of the engine started leaking when I got stuck in traffic or right after shutting it off. Fun times getting to that one especially with spring clamps.. Bloody expensive piece of hose too.

Also the muffler motor mount broke off because they only tack welded it. Only had one tack left by the time I went to fix it so lucky it didn't completely fall off. Next problem with that was that the open position stopper was about a 3mm diameter rod. and the motor was able to bend it. I had some 10mm stainless rod so used that. It doesn't bend.

So apart from the cooling it has been perfectly reliable. Fuel economy is probably similar to the original engine at about 6-6.5L/100.
Need to look at ignition tuning, at the moment it's running a computer generated map. I need a dyno.

Waiting on a custom front swaybar with a dip across the front. Currently using a GSi one spaced down 40mm to clear the turbo, but this is not ideal as the wheel hits it on full lock.

Will hopefully get to the drags sometime in the next month.

Someone said "why is some gay barina following us everywhere"

I told them promptly to shut the fuck up.
    BF XR6 Turbo - 2L Turbo TE - 75 TX Coupe - Atlas SS

    - PSN: rotacoupe

This is obviously assuming all your AUX outputs are doing something. Ie idle control, and the other does water spray, and the other updates your Instagram automatically etc.

Nick did you fix it before it completely fell out?

I'm ok with people thinking it's just some gay Barina, and then chopping them.

Yeah, clip rattled loose from wakefield. Just needed to clip it back in.

BeepBeep needs an obnoxious dose pipe and a set of factory Barina GSi alloys for more lols. Seriously if the thing runs a mid 13 and lower it would be a fucking riot on the road chopping all manner of Golf GTis, Commos/Falcons etc

It gives plenty of dose noises with the current setup. Those GSi alloys are horrible, I think i'd prefer Ronal Teddys

If I included the new stuff I did to make sure it would be a reliable car that handles well and stops I'm well over $1300. But I'm pretty sure I just broke the $1300 on the engine and mods anyway. The clutch and ECU/wideband were the most expensive bits.

Seems pretty similar to my old Swift GTi that I stuc a T25 to.
Ran a mid 14 back in the day but was always traction limited. Would keep up with low 13 sec cars once moving anywhere above 40km/h. Always annoyed me I could never get a 13 sec timeslip as I knew it was that fast. Had about 150hp at wheels, weighed a bit over 900kgs.
I survived the patio flooding catastrophe of 2012.

I made the screamer, haven't tried it yet. I now have this problem where it will go to the set boost and then after 4500rpm it will go near 10psi where it hits the boost cut. Doesn't do it with the muffler closed, but then it doesn't have as much power either. I thought a 38mm wastegate would be big enough for a 1.8 litre, so maybe something is limiting how far it opens.

Also got the custom swaybar to clear the turbo from signature swaybars. I think i specced it slightly lower than it needed to be, it's about level with the sump plug though.

Did you put those fancy shocks in, and what did you do with the old ones? did you want to sell them?

Haven't got them yet. If I get them onto my car i'd probably sell the Konis. They weren't terribly expensive brand new though, I think it was around $800 posted from the UK for the whole set.

Got Federal 595-RSR's on now, 205/45/16 which looks to be the widest possible tyre without bodywork modifications.
Going to take it to the drags tomorrow and see what happens. Guessing either a fried clutch or a 14, or both.

i reckon low 14 dependant on launch and 60 foot. a mate had a 1.6 8v version with a t25 making 180bhp and it would run 14.1 like clockwork
