It axle tramps pretty hard with these tyres, the launch will be tricky!

Going to Sydney Dragway, if anyone else happens to be going and can take a video that'd be appreciated. Can get a pit crew pass as long as they don't require other people to show up at the exact same time.

This was my best run (left lane)
Data logs show max boost of 8.5psi. I'll have to give it some more.

Yeah, apparently making the engine mounts more solid should help with axle tramp..

I've already put poly bushes in everywhere, will sikaflex the engine mounts.

Also I went on the scales, it weighs 1015kg, still with the spare tyre and 35L in the tank.

Powerflex make poly engine mounts for the xc barina. Sure they would make for sb. I have a front mount on a xc from powerflex and it is well made

That's a bit extreme! Guess they'll be more solid than filled originals, but I don't want it to be too harsh.

i once bought most of their catalogue. rose jointed suspension on a street car wasnt a good idea...

Might have to get a short shifter, looks good and not too expensive.

Have a spare set of engine mounts I've filled with Sikaflex, waiting for it to cure.

The last pic original one was completely screwed, the rubber had separated from the outer case. Have swapped them in but haven't had a test drive yet.

Looks like i'm going to drags again this wednesday

Still tramps but not as severe, stiffened the struts rebound a bit and it helped a little, will try a bit more I guess.

Have you tried adjusting tyre pressure as well, either up or down? Certain tyres and cars seem to be more susceptible to tramp with tyre pressure than others, i remember my E36 tramping heavily when running lower pressures, maybe thats contributing to your problem? Ie dropping pressure at drag strip to say 20psi is making tramp worse, maybe bump it a few psi more than you normally would and it might help?

Nah just running normal street pressures (will check what it's actually at before I get there), so shouldn't really put more into it.

I've bumped the boost up to 10.5psi and put some octane booster into it. Lets see what happens..

A bunch of Volkswagens turned up tonight, so I only got 3 runs, and didn't get one without stuffing up a shift. So the best I did was 14.7. My best 60ft was 2.292.

The tyres had 40psi in them, which is what the tyre fitter put in. I should have checked that sooner. I didn't think being too high would cause tramp but I lowered it to 34psi and it seems to have stopped.

I was running 28 on the last tyres and they wore out the outside edge.

Anyway my clutch seems to be shitting itself, randomly slipping in 4th and 5th if I give it boost. It happened with one of the runs at the drags but others were ok strangely.
    I've currently got this https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DriveTor...53.m1438.l2649
Guess I have more than 25-40% power increase over stock
So it would seem this is the next step.. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DriveTor...53.m1438.l2649

Sloth know of any other places to get a good clutch for these engines?

The drivetorque ones supposedly come with a higher camping pressure plate. So the less pucks the worse it's going to be to drive in traffic? Does that site sell a pressure plate too? The search is pretty shit that clutch plate you linked didn't even show up.

i ran a 4 puck in a road car and it was fine. th cable boxes are pretty good pedal wise. they used the same plate from 81 on with the smallblock boxes, apart from a tiny selection.

have you pm'd rorge? im sure he'd hook ya up
