It's not a Patrol, so there is no need to get a DC 11ty million pump upgrade.
Factory pump, stock rebuild (which turned out to be a waste of money!), and then tickled by Graeme to work on the fuelling and aneroid pin.
Same with injectors, actually factory never been out but it's getting to the point of I should do them at 230k on the clock, you don't need to touch them in terms of upgrades.

Everything was way over engineered, and everything factory bar the turbo and clutch are good for 300+kw at the crank and 1000+Nm. Not bad considering they came with 125kw and 380Nm

LOL they pull that shit and then run a monster truck down the strip!

I wish Graeme visited the east coast, no cunt can tune here properly.

I'm going the DC route on the 1hz. I was very close to buying a XXI pump and tune until that pump was torn apart on Ih8mud.

DC will tune it how Graeme intended it to be run, he recommends them.

XXi is a fuck nuckle, and he hired an equally fuck nuckle side kick... Mark and I have a long history of not liking one another
Let's just say I'm not the only person in Perth whom isn't a fan of his at all!

    1.
From work utes to SUVs to emissions regulation dodging VWs, bring your diesel down and satisfy your curiosity on what it will do over the quarter mile just $20 to race all night.

Please note that crankshaft heights up to 700mm will be conditionally accepted.
    2. thats a bargin.

    3. I can't believe they actually have a crank height restriction.. *baffled*

    actually it gets even weirder..

    4. VEHICLE HEIGHTS
Vehicles must have a maximum 600mm crankshaft height, with the only exceptions being:

Vehicles of crankshaft height between 601 and 700mm must have exemption
    approval by Head of Scrutineering and have a minimum ET of 13.5 seconds;

    or

Vehicle has been approved for stability and handling by WA DoT Approved Consulting Engineers
-Engineering and Modifications (And certificate can be provided)

Regardless of crankshaft height, no Suspension Lift Kits are permitted

So even if your lift is engineered (like mine) - sorry no go.

do they have too many mine kids put their crusier on its roof or something?
This is a post i wrote by mistake, which is nice...

nothing spastic (but mine isn't crazee like 9to9's..) but plenty of 4L down and back up, undulations - did it easy peasy.. had enough power.
Took the grand vitara down there yesterday. Nice drive, needed 1st gear low a couple of times. There was a subaru L series down there though so it's clearly not that hard lol

I've seen a Datsun 1000 down the bottom of flea creek. Back in the mid 90s though.

So this little item popped up on FB last week..

Will take $500 for it. Despite it's looks it's apparently got good compression. Obviously needs a good acid bath and all the plastics & sensors replaced..

That is one FTe you'd want to stay away from.
Full rebuild on that, would cost more than a working 'old' one.

My biggest worry would be what condition the alloy timing cases are in I reckon. If they warped with the heat then they're fucked and need replacing... and at around $2k for the two halves.... yeah fuck that

Keep the 80. Slowly add bits and pieces, enjoy it. Still be good in 20 years time. Cant see the price going down on them
