    Wtb: R32 gtr

In the market for an R32 GTR. After a clean, fairly original and mechanically sound example. Don't mind something needing minor bodywork as that is expected on any car of that vintage. I'm finding it hard to gauge what these are worth, prices range from high teens to mid 30s but they don't seem to be selling at the higher prices.

Preference is black or grey, but will also consider silver. Anyone know of anything out there? None of the current cars advertised in the usual places tickle my fancy.

A 'clean' 1995 R33 just came for sale. Has a S2 wheel on it.

I don't think there are any clean 32 or 33's left.

Has to be a 32! I've been looking for a couple of months and have also signed up with an importer but nothing yet. The good examples have either been the wrong colour or illegally modified by Vic standards. There are a handful out there but I see no value in paying 35k for something that still has ceramic wheeled turbos and a time bomb engine....15k right there when it goes pear shaped.

Happy to wait though because I'm planning to keep it for a long long time.

You might as well be looking for a Unicorn. If you're worried about spending 15k on the engine rebuild then maybe a (+20yr old) GTR isn't right just yet?

Buy a shit one for $10k to begin with with the correct paint codes etc on the compliance paint and pour $20k into making it right?

At least then you know it is done properly...

Not worried at all, it's part of owning an old car and inevitable. Point I was making is that I don't want to pay a premium for an example that hasn't had a freshen up already. Makes no sense.

Imposter- even shit ones that clearly need work are asking much more than that!

What's the deal with them? You sign up, give them the monies that you're prepared to spend and then select what you want them to bid on?

Pretty much! They can do all the work for you, so if something comes up that matches your criteria they will inspect it and if it checks out you take things from there. Problem is a lot of American buyers have entered the market and prices for early models have increased quite a bit and certain 91 and 92 models cant be imported due to being sold here locally. Makes it much harder to find a good one!

This is harder than expected...very hard finding a decent car. Not a single example worth looking at in Japan either!

    That comment is gay.

Everyone is jumping on the "keep it stock because it's an investment" bandwagon now... how boring.
I think it comes back to tasteful modifications, because tacky, cheap, done wrong shit was bad when they were new too.

Proves the point though, everyone agrees with stock being tasteful, mods being such an individual thing theres just no way any mods could improve the cars value over stock (currently)
