PS put some Castrol SRF in it and you'll never change the fluid again.
Thanks for the suggestion. I looked at a few options and was recommended Hawk blues by others as well so ended up with some of them. I'll be interested to see how they go and how street friendly they are - on my rx3 I find them ok but squealy unless regularly tracked or when hot. I'll keep the carbotech's in mind for the next set.

    Carbotech's also squeal when cold.

Mmm finally got around to uploading this picture.

At some point to Jim is going to give me a hand to install the centre, since he has the skills to set bearing clearances etc.

Still enjoying the car a lot, brakes need a bleed and the drivers door is starting to rattle again- need to adjust the delrin door bush. Diff bushes need doing as well, starting to get axle tramp off the line

Time to install new slots.. ..... Interdastingly their was plenty of meat on them when I went to Wakefield and I've done about 400 km since then admittedly quite a bit of that was brisk hills work...

I am not using my front brakes any more. $1000 delivered. The rotors will need to be replaced soon. But they are very cheap at $50ea. I have only done about 3 hours on these (calipers and rotors) from new.

So new brake discs installed, and bedded in

Decided to do a quick brake bled tonight and fit the semi slicks to go to the Wakefield next week.

I checked over the tyres and noticed this on 3 of the 4 tyres

They are FZ 201 and have about 350 track km on them

Hrmmm not confident that they will last......the photos 'flatten' the splits quite a bit. They are deeper than they look. Probably a couple of mm.

Wheels got aligned thanks to the. Top cunts at Capital steering and suspension.

Zero toe, 1.5 degrees neg camber , 4 and a bit degree caster on the front
1 mm toe in 1.5 degrees neg camber on the rear

Turns in much better now from the quick blat up coppins crossing on the way home . Hopefully will make a difference on Wednesday.

It's all I can get without losing a stack of caster. I have extended balljoints to go in as the next mod so 3 degrees will be easy.

Ha ha. yeah the Chisholm version of 'stock' stripped, caged, suspension, mega negative camber, new semi slicks etc... I can drive mine for hours at a time on the road comfortably while listening to tunes... When was the last time you did that in your poosar?

Was faster than an r34 GTR (although I also overtook the same r34 on the highway uphill with the car on the trailer on the way home! ) , turbo astra, a bunch of 86s, a VW golf turbo thingo and an s2000 with a stupid wing etc. There was a copy a harrop supercharged VF SS too... It sounded tits and had big flames on the overrun...

I made friends with an dude my ages in an 86 running 12s and had a great laugh all day, especially in the wet sessions. Only spun once, trying to hold it on the lock stops and out braked myself into turn 10 once.

Some chinese dude destroyed the engine in his gen2 crx by just ignoring the temperature gauge and running it to the limiter everything shift and then wondered why it'd dumped all the coolant out...

There was an n15 poosar that was built for the was race series 1st time out and neither of the dudes driving could steer or use their mirrors. Was fucking scary to get past.

New wheel alignment worked well - much more responsive on turn in , although from a quick and dirty IR temperature check, the outside edges of the fronts are still hotter than the middle or inside, so the extended lower balljoints will have to go on plus a new wheel alignment and go to perhaps 2.2 degrees with more caster.

By the end of the 2nd session the LF wheel bearing was rather noisy, so I sat out the 3rd session, checked it for play and waited for the rain.... The car hit 150000 km sideways out of turn 2...which was funny as..

The FZ 201s now have close to 200 laps on them and are heat cycled to fuck, a few mx5 dudes who have run FZ 201 s reckon even a hankook RS3 is ~ two seconds per lap faster.. ... So need new semis - probably look to get hankooks or NT-01 and the the new diff in too

The other annoyance at the moment is the front bar - I caught it on the trailer lip and have cracked the lower edge, so now it catches on everything- it needs a respray anyway, so might loom at going to a nb8b front end..

Yup again.. Racechrono fucked out in the session I set that time, but looks at sector times it should run a 12 comfortably if I manage to string together a clean lap without hitting traffic... ( straight from the book of excuses!)

Front LH wheel bearing is noisy even in a straight line but still no real play when tested odd..
