    Lakeside 300

On this weekend. Should be a very interesting race with a 30 car field, doing 125 laps, and not a lot of room for error.

We'll be in the #75 MX5 again, so drop in if you're at the track.

    Anyone else involved?

I'd love to be there for LOL's, but I've got other commitments.

    Good luck mate.

I am going to enter my lemons soarer to this and the QR round next year. Blown turbos and head gasket are limiting participation this year.

Nice, I saw the PRB on the entry list. Will catch up over the weekend provided we're not up to our necks fixing anything.

A slightly depleted entry list at this point with only 22 starters, but only one qualifying session now instead of two, and then top 10 shootout. Could be an outside chance of making the shootout in the MX5

I can not believe you are the only MX5 in the field.

I pulled out two weeks ago. Dunno why I'm still on the list.

Me either. Lakeside is well suited to them, and given the cutoff for Div 2 is 60 seconds there'd be quite a few 2F cars that could circulate near that all day.

I think Lakeside's reputation and being the first time run could have something to do with the light entry list.

To get a 60 out of an MX5 you need to be well on it as you know. That won't be happening too easy in traffic.

    my bet:
biggest sandbagger will win, something light and powerful that can just blast past traffic when required, and then electronics / timing gear to make sure they lift off on the straight to not break out of their lap bracket

55.9 pole time for the TA2 class. Pretty impressive...

And is the PF PRB 51.6 a mis time?

No live feed so no idea what happened along the way but here's the final lap unofficial results.

Great that it looks like most survived without issue.

Hoping this continues on stronger next year and beyond.

I broke out of class and got my last warning for doing some 59's but had a suspension failure in lap 49 so didnt finish as above. The 51 is a bit of timing glitch but I will claim it

That's a pretty outstanding result for Nick. He's not done much driving in recent years and to pull the fastest lap of the race on the final of 124 laps speaks volumes for the Z3M.

    Solid result from TCR too.

Thanks guys, we were happy with 4th outright considering the cars that beat us.

scooby nailed it though, biggest sandbagger won The Z3 had 59's in it easily, but well driven by both Doddy and Nick to avoid breaking out. We were driving pretty hard to keep our car in the 61's and chasing down and passing Gerry in the other Z3 took a bit of doing.

Got a chuckle listening to the Z3, Civic, and Futureracer all lift off on the front straight during the top 10 shootout

I still have to eat my hat a little bit, looks like the race turned out to be a cracker and came right down to the wire, so kudos to Nick and Adam for the win, epic!

I Ran my Prb in the Lakeside 300 again on sunday but had a little more luck. Finished 1st in division 1,so very very happy. Racing in div 2 sucks being limited to 60 sec lap times. I just wanted to try and drive hard the entire race and so did my codriver. The only problem is a 2nd 5 min compolsorary pit stop in div 1 so I ended up p6 outright but dont really care. If I didnt have the 2nd stop I would have been about 2 laps in front of any other car on the track

Nice job. I still think the second pitstop rule for Div 1 needs to be tweaked, it's just too much of a disadvantage. Could be that they are trying to actively discourage faster cars from entering though to keep it more "grassroots"

I got asked a week out to co-drive again, but work commitments meant the car owner wouldn't be back in the country in time.

Bugger. I figured you may have been driving again but noticed you were not on the entry list.

Cant get too much more grass roots than what I was doing but they need to look harder at the div 1 rules for Lakeside.
