So, the bike is in Bris and getting assembled. It's supposed to rain tomorrow afternoon, so I'm guessing they'll ask me to pick it up then.

Are you in Brisbane? That'd be unusual.

    Mid next week now, poo.

Haha awesome! I love a good moto impulse buy.

I'm probably going to head down to BMW tomorrow at Springwood and have a look at the 1200GS to replace my MT-09. Might try for a ride on the XR or R as well.

The price difference between the Sxxxxxx and Rxxxxx is pretty substantial.

Nice one. I wish I needed a GSA but I'm no Alby Mangels and none of my friends can go away for more than 2 hours..

Nothing exciting - just another pic. I walked in and saw this one and thought I better not touch as it's sold. I later found out it was my actual bike, just waiting for accessories to be fitted. Should have it on Wed or Thurs. Peeing pants in anticipation.

Just the rad and oil guards and some plastic paint protection stuff. Nothing too exciting to start with. I just want to get the bike and ride it then see what bothers me and what others are using (such as the levers, they're pretty horrible).

Yeah they look nice but when the girl was showing me all the options, I couldn't help thinking I was getting sold the rust protection program. I thought I'd look online for pricing (Revzilla etc) and only get the very basics with the bike so I can ride it without damaging anything.

Ah the old busty girl upselling trick. I actually had to ask about accessories. They didn't seem too concerned with upselling anything. Lucky for me I guess.

There was no bust, so I felt doubly ripped off at that point.

I got it - it's safely back in my garage now. Such a nice bike, so smooth and sounds great for an inline 4.

    I heart cruise control.

First mod that I'll order, tail tidy to get rid of the step ladder it currently has. http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/r...s1000r-s1000rr

Cruise control? Stop riding highways and go find some corners homo! I'm free from 2 pm if you need me to go scrub its tyres in for you.

I rode it to work today and tried it out on the Port of Bris motorway. Super easy to use.

I got more shit to do today or else I'd say come round. I've been riding round corners like I'm on ice because I'm so paranoid on new tyres - did some weaving on the straights to do some scrubbing.

p.s. fucking cockmasters at work ashing their fags near my bike, had ash on the seat. ffs.

I would punch on for that! They often say 100kms on new tyres but fuck those guys. I tend to head straight out for a blat, do some side to side on the way (gently on light throttle) to get rid of the release agent a bit then my scrub in route is a few laps up and down the back side of Mt Cootha starting slow and building up. Can be scrubbed in in under 20kms no probs.

Cmon man Rossi gets knee down on the sighting lap, stop being a pussy.

Kart tyres feel like absolute balls on the first lap, by the 3rd lap, they're the quickest they get. I don't see why it requires 100kms if you follow a procedure, but it's got about 20kms on the clock so I'm in no hurry to see how far I can push it.

I used to make a habit of washing the mould release off with paint thinners - Now on the Kat I buy continentals that have no mould release from OEM (They're also hands down the stickiest tyre in the 18" sizes the Kat runs).

Nah, it's awesome. Really gives you time to get your social media in order.

The higher bars make all the difference. No need to grab the tank with legs and ruin my lower back. It's also a lot faster than the Ducati, worth mentioning.

You will ride all day on that thing. When i had my choice of bikes in the garage the supersport stuff never came out in favour of the naked bike. Did 7hyr-12hr days in the saddle without any dramas. The only downside is above 130km/h on the freeway you get a fair bit of windblast.

Aside from position paid from the 899, what did you think of it? Has a wet clutch yeah so no more tickety tickety?

The 899 was great. Clutch was heavier but manageable. Everything else worked nice. It generates heat but so does the bmw - don't notice it with Kevlar jeans.
It went wherever you looked and it's easy to use. Bit jerky at low speeds compared to the BMW but Beamer is stupidly smooth.
If I could manage 4-5 hour days on it, I'd still have it.
