    More things happened...

    Made up dodgy coilover spacers from 30mm MDF



    Should last until i either get longer shockies or get a mate to make up some proper spacers. Or until these ones get wet, whichever comes first...

    Fixed one of the front coilover bushes which was well fucked



    Had some spare Superpro bushes which were very close to the right size, got a mate to turn them down a bit on his lathe and voila...

    Plan was to fit the TT Soarer brakes on the front now that i wont bother with the 15" rims, but turns out they were fucked, so with no other options the big brakes from the track car went on



    also used the precision clearancing tool to move a couple of body/arch spots and managed to shift the huge windscreen washer reservoir forward enough for it not to rub

    Now drives fine, though with the huge tyres it wont rip a skid without getting on teh brake.... acceleration is noticeably more leisurely. Have to fix that....

    15mm spacers on the front, needs a set for the rears as well, and its almost done

    Nice one! Those MDF spacers will give you even more clearance once they get wet.

    heh yeah, theyre really just to try to see what sort of height works, how high we can go before alignment is cack or things start hitting other things...

    This guy is up there but has a shitload more chopped out of the bodywork and runs massive spacers...

    The Summer Autocross series at the Plex speedway - a bunch of us AL regulars do it. Next season isn't till November but there's an amateur rally sprint series on now that I have to talk my "co driver" into because it looks like a laugh

    Some bits arrived - money has actually been spent



    Seem to be collecting these diff kits... right one is a 3.27 I bought for the ISF. Left one is the 4.27 for this.

    They are both F20 Diffs (not A01x whatever which doesn't mean anything) which might be a problem as the ISF diff is apparently an F21.... the "big" Supra diff is an F22.... but if the number equals the size of the crown in inches then why Toyota would make 3 series of Diffs so close in size is anyone's guess...



    Anyhow the Kaaz in the Soarby is due for a freshen up so these gears will go in, should give it some grunt off the line and make the auto gear ratios more useable

    With the autocross season coming up, i got off my arse and finally took the diff out



    Professional mechanics would have a puller to remove the stub axles

    Dodgy mechanics wind a few axle bolts up against the diff body which pushes them out...



    THe diff centres are weird, sometimes they practically fall out, other times you fuck around for half an hour wondering how the hell they fitted, then suddenly you change the angle 0.000000001 degrees and out it comes...



    So i go to take it to my diff guy and i find out he's in Bali....
    with appendicitis....

    Anyhoo the penicillin mustve worked because i got a nice shiny new diff back the other day

    chucked it back in and went for a quick "test run" - acceleration is restored! It could even do with a shorter ratio but the 4.3 will do



    Also made a little wiring hack for manualised auto and hooked up the factory ECT switch via a relay to control the TC lockup - This is a little tricky as the lockup solenoid is normally controlled by PWM so cant just chuck straight 12v to it... dodgy hack is a big 10W resistor to limit power through it - need to experiment with the value a bit, it gets farking hot so used the ABS controller metal chassis as a heatsink....
